These are really great! I have to admit never coming across this art in my history travels, huzzah!Hobo nickels.
The term "hobo nickel" is a bit of a misnomer since coins of all denominations were fair game, but the U.S. "buffalo nickel" with it's large bas relief Indian head was favored for it's size, thickness, and relative softness.These are really great! The intricate detail some of these "artists" were able to achieve on such a small scale is impressive.
