Looking at the conformer there, I wonder if "Lefty" shouldn't be pronounced "Lumpy" lol lol lol :D

Yeah, I'm hoping the hair-keeping genes on my mom's side hold-up, or I'll be a mess.

Great bubble cover Tom. My two Arts have that width ribbon but my next is coming with a thin. Go figger. There was a long pause between deciding on the Pecan or Natural. It would have been longer if I had seen that beauty first.
I hope to post my Natural soon.

Thanks Tom
I already had a hat from Buckaroo Hatters in the natural. It is a great color as well. This Pecan is an awesome mid-brown with a fantastic hand to it.

I was discussing options with Art a while ago and decided to get a silk finish hat. When it arrived I liked it so much that I ordered two more hats in that finish. It is truly remarkable and adds a lot to the look and feel of a hat.

Photos please....;)

I just sent out the deposit! I now own the currently last Blue Smoke Artlite felt body. I'm so psyched for this! Still need to pick out the specifics on this one. I'm thinking overwelt, and a black ribbon. I'll send him some pics of myself, and leave the dimensions to his trained eyes.

Cheers!

Apologies for the bad pictures but I am recovering from surgery and don't have the patience right now to get better shots.

From left to right: Jazzman silk finish, After Midnite (I think) silk finish and lastly a black silk finish meant to imitate (not copy) hats from the 1920s.

Attempt at detail shots:

Like I said, the silk finish Art creates is amazing stuff. :)

That's what I had Art do for me some time ago. Came out great:

Nice looking lid. I should be coming up in que pretty soon for a VS. Then my bird, like yours, will have a companion. Unfortunately the color I wanted for my first VS didn't come in the lite-felt. Art assured me that all his felts are relatively light.

What colour did you get?

My last two were in Mojave and Silver Mist, dress weight. I wouldn't personally want either of those in a lighter weight: they (by which I really mean the lighter colours) are absolutely perfect in dress, IMNSHO.

Whiskey

As of this moment I've chosen the "whiskey" color. That could change until I'm actually in queue. 2 1/2" to 2 3/4" brim with over welt and a black or dark brown ribbon about 1 3/4". Again, I may continue to vacillate on my specs.

If you want it to be a Maltese Falcon fedora, I'd go with a smaller brim. Mine is 2 3/8" which Art says is probably what Bogie had. I have a broad face, so I thought I needed a wider brim but I found that's not so.

Mmm, you will have to post pics. Whiskey is "on my list".

For jporgeck

For anyone interested, here's a few pics of my VS custom hat in "Whisky" that Art made for me last summer. The band is actually a very dark olive that takes on a brown/black hue depending on the light. I love the Whisky color, I asked Art to bridge the Indiana Jones - Sam Spade gap and I think his color choices were spot on.

This photo makes the felt look lighter than it is, but the band is accurate.
