Art Fawcett VS Hall of Fame

My first work of Art is on the block. It is a copy of this hat worn by my great-grandfather. He usually wore western styled hats but I found this pic of him with my Mom from '45, discussed on another thread. I was going to go with a Granite, but I moved that back to second on the list. I know it isn't too exciting since it is just a clone hat, but I still can't wait. It will be my tribute hat, in silver belly. Art is so great. He had my granite request on the block but let me change my mind at the last minute, and then did a search on here for the other thread with pics. What a guy.

StylinLA, stunning hat you have there! What are the actual colours of felt and ribbon? Black?

It's black lightweight felt. Sportaire block, 2 1/2-inch brim. Crow height is like 5 1/2, but Art creased it a little lower than the usual Sportaire. The ribbon is magnifico. Hard to photograph. The ribbon is vintage from the 40's- a graphite gray color which can look a little olive green depending on lighting.

Not so quick:D I think there is going to be alot of excitement about this hat for the very reason that it is a clone of your Great-Grandpas hat. I can't think of a cooler hat to be made and I am excited to see it. It would be neat to see side by side of your Great-Grandpa in the old photo and you in a new one with the lid. Wonderful:eusa_clap

I think that's a great idea, Jabos, and this will be a very special hat for you. That granite will come, and it will be a nice hat. But this one will be a copy of your great grandfather's hat.

Thanks. We have only one hat surviving of his, a western style Shutte Brothers hat. I think I'll get at least one Uncle and some cousins possibly interested it getting one made as well. I'll post pics when I get it. He was the family patriarch but died when I was 3 so I don't remember him. This is the only photo of him with me, lifted from an 8mm movie. He was a great man and a man of style. He only wore suits with ties while working his ranch.

My new work of Art based on Rorschach's hat. The brim is a bit stingier than I am used to but I like it a lot. (I have Indy Magnoli making the jacket)

Thanks. Here is a front shot. You can see the brim width better.

Viper Man, I thought of you and your Cavanagh when I saw this hat. It's a great look.
Now I think someone needs to have Art make a version of Johnny Depp's hat from Public Enemies.
I'd like to see Alucard's Rorschach and that one side-by-side.

Wow!!! I was waiting for someone to do this. Looks excellent. What's the brim width? PS I love all the other hats as well.
