Barrowjh, 1911,

Fine hats both.

Barrowjh, I see yours has no liner. Is it an ArtLite, then? And, did you have any particular reason to ask a dimensionally cut brim? The other hats you are showing do not seem to have it.

1911, The black liner looks very handsome with the dark brown. What are the dimensions of this hat? BTW, I like how it goes with both jackets, even if bound brims are usually considered dressier. The BarnStormer is fantastic!

Regards!

Torpedo - yes, it is the light weight felt, to 'stretch' the wearing season here. I wanted a 2 1/2 brim front & back, without the brim looking so wide in a front or back view. If I had it to do over again, would be just as happy with a regular 2 1/2 all around. As far as the bash, it it basically Art's, from his blocks. When it arrived it appeared to me the dents had sort of smoothed out, so I poked them back in - not sure that was really an adjustment on my part, as the felt seemed to want to be there.

I guess I'm too new to know that Art does Panamas!

Thank you.

2 1/2" brim, 5 1/2" open crown (I think), bashed by Art. Like others stated, the bash sort of came loose in shipping, so I moistened the crown with a tiny amount of distilled water and held the shape until it stayed. It now comes in at 4 1/2" front and 4" in back. 18 ligne ribbon, 9 ligne brim binding.

Two more beauties there, John and 1911 Man. I like the ribbon with the touch of color, John. 1911 Man, the wide binding is right up my alley.

While Art is working on my newest hat, I thought I would post a pic of the last one I got from him.

Alucard, tell us all about that one. I like the width of the band and the tallness of the crown. Does it have a model name. I am going to order a couple myself and might just consider your model, with your permission, of course.:p

Ditto duggap's questions!

I am also curious to know if there is a model name for that hat. It is beautiful, Alucard!

Also, what is the color of the felt? That lighter brown/tan with the contrasting darker brown ribbon is quite nice.

Thanks guys, it is not a specific model and feel free to copy whatever you like. It is Neutral with a brown ribbon. Art took it from there. It has a wonderful diamond bash.

I Like it!
I really enjoy seeing the lighter colored felts some of these hats have. That one looks particularly sharp.

Nestled away in a remote enough area of southern Oregon to keep us all from popping in with checkbooks in hand.

Now that I got a little more practiced with lighting, wanted to post a better shot of my latest from Art.

Amazing Hat

What a beautiful hat! It looks great with the jacket and it looks great with the leather, too.

That black liner, brown leather sweatband, brown felt and elegant brim trip...it all goes together to make one amazing hat! Congrats! :eusa_clap

So it started simple. I told Art I wanted a replica of the Stetson Whippet (since they're so darn hard to find for a good price!!) in dark brown.

It arrived on Friday. I think he hit this one right out of the park. It is stunning in person, I know the photos don't do it justice. The felt is very pliable soft, I love it.

Here's a pic of the liner, black. I love the brown leather sweatband with the dark brown felt.

So give me your opinions, is the hat too dressy for leather, or does it look okay?

Here it is with my Aero A2

Whatever your opinions, I love this hat. Thank you Art for creating such a masterpiece
