5 3/4 crown, teardrop. 2 1/2 bound brim.

I'm borrowing (ok, stealing) the ribbon Bart has on his oxblood with an elegant but simple design I saw in this thread a couple hundred pages back instead of a standard bow.

I just got a note from Art, and my Christmas present to myself is headed to the block today! I'm more excited than I ever thought I could be about a hat! :)

I'm excited to see how this one turns out. Your others are real stunners.

ME too Bart, and thanks for the ribbon color :)

Thanks, the PNW is bringing hats back. That one, like the rest of mine, was all Arts doing. It did turn out snazzy though. If I was a bazillionaire I would just ask Art to make me a clone of every hat he makes for everyone else:D

My black cherry will be on its way tomorrow, I can't wait to have it on my head !!!

Black Cherry seems to be quite a popular choice lately...I've counted at least three of us who have a Black Cherry on the block in the past few days. I'm fascinated by the fact that Art can make amazing and unique hats for each of us starting with the same basic hat bodies. I'll admit, though, that I'm becoming spoiled. When I log on to eBay or look at production hats online, I no longer have that strong desire to buy something...unless I see something vintage. I've started thinking, when considering a new hat, why go with what somebody else picked out to produce, when Art can make exactly what you want, exactly how you want it. When I fall in love with a new restaurant, I jokingly ask if they put something addictive in their food. With hats, though, I'm not sure what the excuse is. :)

Spoke to Art on Sunday and he helped me design my first custom hat.
He was a very candid guy (even told me to throw out a hat I owned because it didn't fit me (from pictures I sent him)).
He said that he normally completes about 1 hat a day, but is now up to 1.75/day to keep up with the holiday demand.
I threw a lot of wacky ideas at him (that he very graciously let me know were wacky).
The comment I remember him saying is..."I still have to put my name on the hat".
I can't wait to see what the final outcome is.

Does anyone own a hat in Midnight Blue? If it explodes in the sunlight like the Dark Moss I'll have to put it on my list.
Tom D.

I have a Midnight blue from Art; It's a great color. In the sunlight it looks dark blue and under electric lights I think it almost takes on a purple-ish look. It's a very rich color, and more versatile than I thought it'd be.

I get a little excited when its snowing because I know for sure I'm reaching for the VS instead of a flat cap or something. Went downtown to see the lights and walk on Saturday night with my wife and it was sleeting a bit and I asked her if it were raining because I couldn't tell with my hat on, haha.
