I thought it would be nice for everyone to share what they have spotted in their travels. I saw these in Spokane, Washington.

Great pictures. I love this kind of thing.

The top one is fun, It's interesting to see the two styles, the '10s?, '20s? of the building and the '50s-'60's of the sign, mixed together, with the weathering of time making them both look to somehow belong with each other.

Any idea as to what is going to happen to the bottom one? Being closed is never a good sign for buildings of that age, especially smaller ones; usually ends in demolition or gutting.

Do I know what's happening with this building? No, I don't. If I was loaded down with money, I'd buy it and put a diner or somesuch in there. What a gem.

I saw these in Spokane, Washington.

This is just striking! I'd love to see a small swing dance club do something with it, or some sort of arts organization ... I wonder if there's any preservation clubs in Spokane one could inquire with to see if anything's happening with it.

One can always hope.

Beautiful building, that second one. Someone needs to reopen it as a vintage clothing shop for men and women, with the proprietor's office/apartment upstairs. Or are those skylights, indicating a high ceiling?

Ocean Park is great!

A recipient of an Art Deco Society of California Preservation Award, and deservedly so.

The Market Street National Bank designs are almost Mayan Deco.
I love the Luhrs Tower photos. The elements above the second floor windows look like thistle designs that are reminiscent of faces. Does anyone else see that or is it just me?

Yeah, they look like evil clown faces or something if you look at them too hard! Or am I just really messed up? lol On second thoughts, don't answer that . . .

Found it. It's the Harwan I was thinking of. The marquee is pretty similar- and without the overall, got confused.

our weekend at the Ocean Park Motel in SF

This place was great. For the most part the room was original looking and the bathroom had the original black and pink tiles and mosaic tiles on the floor.
