April 4, 1933: BEER!!!

Found this on another site and had to share...
It was 75 years ago tonight that the sale of 3.2 brew was belatedly made legal as part of the gradual repeal of Prohibition.
The news was greeted with Beer Parades in the largest cities, but Madison, Wisconsin, preferred to celebrate in a simpler way.

I'm reminded of a song on the Bob & Tom Show (morning radio) called "Beer Run".

"B - double 'e' - double 'r' - U - N, Beer Run... (repeat)
All we need is a ten and a five, or a
Car and a key and a sober driver
B - double 'e' - double 'r' - U - N, Beer Run!"

"Beer Run" was not a term in use in 1933. People probably would have thought it was a battle of the Civil War.
