Anyone speak Russian?

Unfortunately, my conversational Russian is limited to 'da', 'nyet', 'do svedanya'(sp?), 'tovarisch'(sp?), 'pazhaloosta', and one nasty little piece of insult not fit for polite company but that George Patton coulda put to good use.

Would like to learn someday, though... (unfortunately, I'm rusty in even German and Spanish, the two languages I seriously studied--I'm probably gonna have to hock a kidney for the tabs I'm gonna rack up with Rosetta Stone...)

Translations for the linguistically-challenged--LadyS, zaika, Jack et al. please doublecheck me on this?: 'yes', 'no', 'goodbye', 'comrade', 'please'. (When I need written Russian translated, I usually go running back to a prof who used to live behind the Iron Curtain.lol)

OT: Miss Stardust, if you're willing to work with someone on German, a 'sparring partner' would probably do us both some good--if you're willing to allow me the privilege, I'd like to lend whatever help I can. (Guess I better dig out my old language books... wherever in "deep storage" they are.)

One of the employees at my job is from Greece or at least is of Greek extraction. He had a paperback book open on his desk and when I glanced at it, i thought for a moment that I'd just had a stroke.

It was in the Cyrillic alphabet. Whew!

The only thing learning Russian has done to my day-to-day life is ruin my accent when ordering mexican food at the local taco truck.

Не много так не чувствуют о русском потому что это один из самых сложных языков во мире!! lol lol Тех кто может долго изучать русский язык действительно любит културу...нет любит ВСЕ о России! ха ха

Tony - lol! Last time I was in Russia...completely immersed in the language...I would see English and think the same thing. It took a while to realize what I was looking at. Same with Russian now in the States.

Jack I suffer from the same thing. lol My Spanish speaking friends have a good laugh at my expense.
