The Borsalino factory was located in Alessandria until the early 1980s. The contemporary model called "Alessandria" (and its earlier brethren) is a thin ribbon wide brimmed hat like the one pictured below.

The color of Depp's hat from Public enemies is a very dark shade of Oxblood, produced exclusively for Optimo hats. Custom hatters such as Art Fawcett, John Penman, etc, can use a felt called "Black Cherry" which is a very close substitute. I do not know of any production made hat which has a color which comes close, other than black.
