Another Ribbon Swap....

I have this Resistol that I want to sap the braided band with some grosgrain. I like this color, but don't know if it fits?

Keep in mind that it's blurry because I tries tio shoot it without flash to capture the true color. It still came a bit light, it's a tad darker and less blue tint......more grayish blue.

I have others, but I thought it would be different, does it work? [huh]

Umm I think a brown ribbon would look better.

I'm not crazy 'bout the color combo. I don't dislike it, but, like IC, I'm thinking a warm color might be better. And perhaps wider, too?

I agree with tonyb and IC, a much wider ribbon in dark brown would look much better.

I guess what I was thinking is that the color reminds me of my Buckaroo Hatters with the brown ribbon and binding.

Tony, it's not a kitten Finnish, it's just a plain ole resistol from the 50's I suppose.

I do have 2 different Brown, in 1 1/4", let me show you......

I like all of those.
The solid brown is the most conservative.
The green makes a bold statement.
The brown and gold textured is definitely sporty.

I like the last one the most. I think the color of the hat is so odd (unique, not ugly), that the transition that ribbon provides into brown makes a big difference.

Out of those, the dark brown looks the best, but I think for that color and style, the original rope band looks appropriate.

I like your first idea best, the bluish gray.

Sometimes I need to look at things again in a couple of days to decide if I really like it. This becomes more important if I came up with the idea late at night.

Finished it up.......

I decided to use a combination of both,(Chocolate Brown & Striped). I used a piece of Dark Brown to accent the center of the Bow.....

I am working on the last of 3 hat bodies that Major Moore gave me. I'm making a straight crowned stingy brim in a nice shade of Sage/Taupe/Brownish kinda color.

Will post when it's finished.
