Michaelson asked me to post the following picture of a new Akubra hat offering from Hatsdirect.

Here a message from Ron:
I have attached a pic of the "Rap" I mentioned the other day - it is way off a Fedora look but it is an interesting little shape. Some of the folks at the Fedora Lounge might find it interesting. If it is too off topic no need to mention it. Like The Fedora it is a style we have been frequently asked about so we introduced it into the range.

The porkpie is much older than you guys think. Porkpie hats rose to popularity in the 19th Century and earned their name because the crown resembles the size and shape of an actual pork pie (a favorite food in Great Britain). Anybody remember Buster Keaton? That was his signature. It experienced a revival in popularity in the early fifties among black youths. Since then, the association with black culture, i.e., jazz, has stuck to this day.

Hey Daryl, that is a killer bluesman hat. I like it. MAN!, this hat collecting is so addictive. After I get my "Fedora" from Hats Direct in June, I may have to pick up one of these little numbers.

It looks kinda like the hat my fellow Philly brother, Rock Balboa wore.
