Tim, is working on a clients hat today,
Look at how he hand installs these premium sheep skin sweatbands
I asked Tim, to be sure to send me some finished photos of this special Navy Blue build, heading to Montana
Tim makes one very fine hat. I had asked him how much that Pecan hat sold for, and he said it was modestly priced at 475.00.
Tim has a attention to detail that is very obvious. And his hand pounced finishes are really special. I should know, I own one.
He has a great hand, and knows how to work the felt.

This is a hand stitched brim binding, and that is one continuous length of thread.
Making the closed loop, (the only time Tim uses a sewing machine, is to close the loop) then he fits it to the brim and bast stitches it to the hat, and then hand stitching it in place.
I asked Tim, if he's done a time study before, he said it takes him about 10 hours, just to do the brim work. He paid attention to the time yesterday and said this one took him about 9.5 hours, with only a few short breaks in the action.
SPECS:
Winchester body:
Beaver 100. Dress weight. Blocked open crown at 5-3/4 inch.
Crown: 5" up front. Raked back to 4" at the rear.
Brim: 2-3/4 inches.
Binding: old vintage stock, the color, Dark Grey.
Main ribbon: old vintage stock, the color, Navy Blue
Sweatband: Naked Taupe
Double order, 1 of 2 heading to Montana. Whiskey body on the block dry and ready.

Tim is pushing and working hard filling orders. I'd like to take an opportunity to try and help him here. He currently has this blocked and is looking for clients. Specs : Winchester Beaver 100 Dress weight. Color : Bone 5-3/4 inch open crown. Finished to suit your likes. Brim will likely be 2-5/8
Oh, most important
Update!!!

That hat is blocked for 7-1/4,.can go either way a little (+ or -)

I really appreciate the help, Vic. Yes I am pushing hard to fill orders. Honestly said, I can use the help and support of the good folks here. I love creating a fine build. Straight shooter, I'm having a rough time keeping my neck above the waterline. I'm only capable of a few hats a month, I really don't know what more I can do to market myself. I'd just like to keep busy and any support here is appreciated. That bone beaver 100% dress weight is waiting for someone to give it some direction, to fit their vintage inspired taste. Thank you.

I just did a search on facebook for 'Alley Kat Hat.' I got a number of hits but nothing that was definitively, without a doubt, your company.

If any of those hits are you, I would redefine the title as 'The Alley Kat Hat Company,' and then begin posting photos and descriptions of your finished hats, as in - the ones in this thread, to as many vintage men's wear pages I as I could find (I've never seen a post from anything called 'Alley Kat' online before I just did a search just now). That's how I have been learning of many of the different makers of repop 'vintage' stuff out there.

Anyway, that's what I would do.

I appreciate the feedback very much. I'll have to look at my Facebook and try to make a business page. Your right, the more platforms the better my chances are for getting orders. Thanks again!
Tim
