I thought some of you might like to see this. It is the surrender communique sent out for he European theater. It was typed out by my great uncle on that day when he received it. i was suppose to get the original, but when my Great Aunt passed away, it was simply thrown out. The interesting thing, was my Father hand him were both named Bob, and they both served with the 9th Air force.

My grandfather was also 9th AF. Kind of the unsung flyboys of the ETO.
