According to the Akubra Facebook page, the Territory is about to move into their "archive collection"

They're not saying its being discontinued, but it is being archived to make way for new models. The stylemaster is also on the archive page

Here's the page of archived items

Looks good. Can't see the hole in your photos. A pity about it, though otoh, maybe it's a small plus if it means you feel able to use the hat the way you intended rather than feeling a bit too precious about it. Not that you are necessarily wired that way - this occurs to me becasue I am!
I agree, there is less pressure with the shaping and hole since it's supposed to be a working hat.

I see they have a price label still on that page. I wonder id that just ehst they were, or are they indicating the unit price / rrp should someone do an order (presumsbly that eould have to be some sort of minimum quantity deal).

I see the Capricorn on there; loved mine. I hope it's making way for a straw Fed...

My Akubra "The Speakeasy" from R&RC hatcompagny came in. Very nice color combination and the hat is brand new. Really like it!!

I was worried about this one, but I think it will be fine... Nice little Stylemaster in Acorn. AFTER I bought it I looked at all the pics and description... clearly it was illustrated and mentioned about an ink blot on the underside of the brim ( Seller didnt hide anything... its all on me not reading the ad completely lol). Gentle daubing with 90% isopropol and Ive already got about 1/2 the spot removed. I already have another newer Stylemaster in Acorn in a 59. This ones a 58 thats been nicely broken in and stretched a bit ( Im about halfway between a 58 and 59). This one fits great and has that gently loved look and feel instead of the stiffer new hat look. Even if I cant totally get the ink totally out of the bottom brim, it will be a great casual out and about hat ( I can save my newer one for after I wear this one out lol). Can never have too many Akubras lol

Hi All. First time poster here. My Akubra journey has begun in earnest. Here's my very first one, a Traveller in Fern, picked up from Strand Hatters in Sydney. I'm an American living in Japan, and I try to spend as much time as possible in Australia and New Zealand. I had no idea about Akubras until August of this year. While in Brisbane, I accidently stumbled into Brisbane Hatters and was introduced to Aukubra. It was love at first sight, but due to some circumstances (My wife got lost while I was in the shop looking at hats), I couldn't buy one on that day. After finding my wife, we went back to our hotel. We were leaving for Adelaide the next morning and would be in Sydney three weeks later, so I checked where I might buy these hats in Sydney. Once in Sydney, after an hour in Strand hatters, I decided on this one for hiking, shown below with the skyline of Sydney. I mean, it's my third trip to Australia, so I have a right to own an Akubra, right? At least that's how I justified it to my wife LOL.

What's funny is that we were in Katoomba for a few days, and while I did see The Hattery, I didn't know that is was such a Mecca for Akubras. We were in Katoomba to hike, not buy hats.

I wear my traveller all of the time, even in the house because I love it so much.

Now I've found Fedora Lounge, and have read 200 pages of this Akubra-Overload to learn more about my new passion. I've since picked up two more—a Stylemaster and just today a second-hand Snowy River. More on those ones later, so I can pick up some more posts. How in the world did I not know about these amazing hats for all these years? So glad to have found them.

Welcome to the lounge. Good to see another Japan resident here. Where are you? I’m in Wakayama. Also nice to see a fan of my home country of New Zealand.

Had a Stylemaster in Loden shipped to me to go with my Traveller. Now I have an Akubra for the city and another for the country. I didn't think I'd like the dark brown as much as I do. The Stylemaster is proving to be super versatile. Here's me putting it through some paces. . .

How do the Japanese react to a gaijin wearing a nice hat?
