Nah, sad to say the last time I was in such an edifice I was taking my dad to Easter mass, and at the time I was letting my freak flag fly. I remember, though, that I was surprised to see people in shorts and t-shirts.

I got my Fed IV a few weeks ago. I decided I wasn't up to bashing it myself, so I took it to a local hat store (which shall remain nameless) and had them do it for me, in a basic center dent. After a while I decided I didn't like it - the crown was too high and, shockingly for a "professional" bashing, the dent and dimples were noticeably off center. So I decided to do it myself after all and put it into a teardrop crease, which I have to say looks better. The "dome" in the center is a little higher than I'd like, sticking up above the sides of the crown a bit, but I'm unwilling to mess around with the hat anymore at this point, and it's not really noticeable when I have it on.

The point of this is that all of you guys who say it's not a big deal to bash your own hat have been right all along. As you already know.

I remember getting my first Fed IV a few years ago. I put my own bash in and was happy at first and like you not wanting to mess with it. Several weeks passed and I kept noticing slight imperfections that started bothering me. I then rebashed it. Since that time I have rebashed it several more times until I got it just right. These are great hats and you can play around with the bash all you want. Have fun with it.

Easy peasy. Can't imagine bothering or paying someone else to do the same thing.!

Neither can I, now.

Keep working with the hat,Obsessed,it will settle in to a crease it likes.

I actually couldn't resist adjusting it a bit last night. :)

Hi Motorcyclist, did you like the sand Leisure Time? Did you post any pictures? It has been on my list to acquire for a long time. Now with winter here I won't mind the 3 month wait when I place an order from Sam at EA. I am sorry I missed out on the Fern Green option but Akubra discontinued the colour. I have 2 Banjos and I figure the size and shape of the LT are pretty close and I wanted the light sand colour for summer.

Here you go. Sorry it took so long but it's been a rough few weeks for me.. The hat didn't do so well in shipping so I still need to steam and shape the brim a little to fix things but...

Also, here's the bluegrass green Coober Pedy. Quite happy with the color.

Thanks for that Motorcyclist! I am thinking of this hat for next Spring/Summer so now is the time for me to place an order with the 3 month wait. It will be my first really "white" felt hat. I think it will be a step up from my Akubra Traveller.

Just thought I'd throw this out for comparison. All depends on what size brim you like but here's the Coober Pedy sand.

A long-desired Banjo Paterson is en route for $157CAD delivered! Too bad the C$ is in the crapper so bad right now or this would have been a spectacular deal...
Cheers, Motorcyclist! :D

Found something that I failed to resist, as well.
Woomera with a 6.69 inch (!) tall open crown,
and a CEO for good measure (only an additional $2 to ship a second hat).
Thank you for the heads up, Motorcyclist.
