Like me liking my Sydney better?

Yes, Mr Goose I do! The Fedora is just a nicer feel on my noggin, maybe the leather sweatband, I don't know, it seems like it is just slightly bigger and looks like a nicer hat. They both fit fine though and the Casual is so light that you can forget it is there.

I was off work for a couple of days this week and pretty much wore the Casual all day Thursday and Friday while I ran errands, and again yesterday to my grandson's birthday party (and I had the nicest hat at the McDonalds playland too!)

With a suit or something a little dressier, the Fedora is a great fit. I've worn it for hours at a time with no problems. And yes - the price was right. Still haven't gotten over that.

Now the Fedora comes in a light brown too - Burnt Oak I believe it is called. Hmmmm . . . . . .

I'll be needing a gray hat and the Fedora looks like it would fit the bill. From what I can gather it sports a slightly taller crown and has a smidge less taper than a Squatter - maybe.

Dress up? Dress down? Fedoras like either. They look good with pants too :D.

Casual/Fedora pics

Here are some pics of my Akubra Casual after I changed the crease on it - raised it up about 1/4" or so, and my Akubra Fedora with the final bash. The Casual was resting on the top of my noggin, and the slight change in height made all the difference. These are both the Carbon Gray color, but the Casual seems to have a slight bluish tint that showed up in the pcs.

Side by side - Casual is on the left:

And the Fedora:

I like them both! Sorry Goose. but I'm gonna keep 'em!

They look good with pants too! Pretty funny CRH - I just got it!

I thought you would. And I am glad you do. :)
These are the kind of hats that make one proud to wear a hat.
Who wouldn't dig 'em?

Thanks for the pics ValEg.

Yep - said a prayer, held my breath, shut my eyes and smashed it. :(

Some may know that my Casual shrunk significantly (tapered like nuts) and someone asked somewhere what happened to the beagle that sat on it when I first received it.

Well, I think she had a plan...

Wanted to report that I received my 3 inch Hallett stretcher and the Casual is in it rignt now. Don't think it'll ever be the same though :(

ValEag, you mentioned in the thread link above that you were wondering what I was going to do in order to get my Casual back in shape. Thank you for your post and comments.

Well, today I decided to take the Casual off of it's Capricorn form. Looked great. Was thinking that my idea was somewhat clever and then totally humbled when I put the Casual on and the ribbon bow was on the right side  :eusa_doh:

Backwards.

So, it's back for a tune up for another day or so...this time the correct way.

What a maroon!

Laughed out loud when I read that! I'm thinking that's a mistake you will not make again - thanks for sharing.
