DARN IT! I went an ordered a Campdraft at Hats Direct.

I hope it looks as good as Colby Jacks and IC's.....

I can hear my wife- "ANOTHER HAT?".

I ordered 2 and only get one! Dee wanted a federation:eusa_doh: if they go any lower I am going to get a federation for me too!

It's advertised as a pin not a hat pin. Too big for a hat? Probably a good thing. Otherwise any hat you put it on would likely get bashed with all sorts of blunt instruments on a regular basis. :beer:

That's right...It's an imperial with a white satin liner...You will love it!
That would be a cool idea though...Make a heritage fur Camp Draft....Hmmmm

Hmmmmm. You guys are a bad influence. I broke down and ordered a moonstone Fed Deluxe IV last night. They're down to $108 and change. The heritage quality felt is quite a bit nicer than the imperial, though I do love my Campdraft.

I got an e-mail tonight that my size is on backorder. I got a 5-6 week wait.
Thats okay I guess, I have something to look forward to.Plus it ought to hit near Thanksgiving- thats a good time for a new hat.

bluegrass green and black Campdraft

I received an email from Sam at www.everythingaustralian.com.au this morning and he said that if enough people would email him about the bluegrass green and the black Campdraft being discontinued, that he would start a petition and the folks at Akubra might change their mind about discontinuing these colors for the Campdraft.

I had emailed Sam at Everything Australian about the discontinuation of Bluegrass Green Campdrafts and I got a similar email from him this morning. I won't post the entire email, but there are some other items of interest in it:

1) Black, Bluegrass Green & Mid Grey are all now discontinued for the Campdraft.
2) Sam is trying to get Akubra to change its mind on Black and Bluegrass Green.
3) He wants to start a petition that he can take to Akubra to demonstrate that there's a market for these colors.
4) Here's what he said about the petition: "If people will send me an email with their name and email address I will be able to go to Akubra and say I have a lot of people who want these colours. They are very good people and will listen."

So, if you would like to see these colors continued in production, drop Sam a line with your email address, and perhaps, collectively, we can help persuade Akubra to keep making the Campdraft in these colors.
