I ordered a Black Bogart myself last night.
Or, the three of us in our black Bogarts. Yep, close to pulling the trigger on the black one.
Trying to convince myself that I don't "need" a black one.
BUT, I don't have a black hat other than my Homburg. (And the Hampton that doesn't work for my fat face)

So, I think I "need" a black Bogart (somebody slap me and call me "Nancy").

ValEag...did you get your Bogart yet? Toughts? Pics?

Hey OG, I dry curled my brim in back...cool beans :)

Goose - (OK [huh] - slap/Nancy!!!)

Yes - I did get my Bogart last Saturday - another delivery from HD in less than 6 days!

Haven't had a chance to take any pics yet. I do like the fit and look of it just fine. It is a little stiffer than the other Akubras I have. I may have to play with the curl on the brim also to get it down a little more on the sides. I'll be wearing it tonight to church with a black suit.

I'll have to admit the fit and feel of my Carbon Grey Fedora on my noggin is my favorite.

You think the Bogart is stiff? That's because you (and I) are spoiled with our Sydney/Fedora lids. I too find the Sydney just feels great when you wear it. Light and soft. Feels like it was made for me.

Stiff to me is the C.E.O. That brim would require steam where the others don't.

Anyway, I hope to see pics of your Bogart.

And, Nancy here, I just received word from Hats Direct that my Black Bogart is shipping today. I'm so weak

Three for lunch it is....:D

I tried to convince myself I didn't need the second Bogart too but it didn't work... I did last about 2 weeks before I caved in and ordered it...... lol

Thanks to another member here I got a good deal on a steamer and it is on it's way to my house now.....

I am such a klutz that I figured I had better start off with the right tools and can improvise later if need be.....

So I have a couple of hats hanging around waiting like a clam to get steamed:p

I have the Bogart in black and two Fed 4's, love th bogart. It is a great hat.

Welcome Trev1960!

I like my Bogart also. I wore mine around the house last Saturday to break it in a little and wore it for a couple of hours last night. I think it is a little dressier looking than the Akubra Fedora, but the Fedora just seems to fit a little nicer for me. If the Fedora came in black, I'd be inclined to get one - in fact I wish it was available in dark blue and green as well.

You won't find a shortage of Fed 4 fans here - don't have one myself yet.
Welcome to the Lounge!

How did you get the C-Crown to stay in the Sydney?

Hey Goose, how did you get that C-Bash to stay in your Sydney? Mine is so soft that it won't hold the upward telescope bash.

I, too, would like to know how you got your Sydney/Fedora to hold a pinch-front telescope/C-crown/teardrop bash. I prefer the look of that bash, as well as the fact that it keeps inside of the crown off the top of my head.

While I love the comfort and hand of the Sydney's soft and pliable felt, I find I must handle it very carefully to preserve even the pinch-front center crease.
