Aero Sunburst in "Red Fox"

I'm sharing some photos I posted on the Thurston Bros/Insurrection thread here of my long-awaited acquisition, an Aero Sunburst in Red Fox medium-weight steerhide. I'm going to thoroughly enjoy molding it to my form; it's not stiff like horsehide, per se, but it will still need a good breaking in period to sit right.

Just got home form work, unfortunately it was dark outside so couldn't use natural light but the pics still pick up the rich tones of the honey-brown colour.

I went for brown cotton drill lining (it doesn't get that cold here, not like in the USA or England). Also a photo of the wrist straps, which I really dig.

Both me and the jacket look lopsided in this photo, and yet I hadn't been to the pub . . . must've been a long day!

That's a beauty, first time I've seen this hide, rich colour and a nice change from the usual seal brown. Would love to see how medium steerhide breaks in, could be very special.

Nice ... that should break in really nicely ( the big advantage of steer over horse IMHO ) and will only get better with use.

Thanks gents. It's a rich honey brown colour in natural light , thick but supple leather. I'm enjoying it immensely!

Edward, I considered russet goat for a Sunburst when the design first came out. I'll be sure to wear a jacket without cuff straps on my next chicken run!
Handymike, I requested normal handwarmer pockets, the angle of the standard Sunburst pockets is the one element of the design I don't like.

I'll definitely get some fedora shots up for you Wilbur!
