Aero Sheene fan thread!

Out of curiosity, what’s the shoulder to shoulder measurement? My theory is that a narrow shoulder combined with a small neck hole diameter will cause a pinch point at the back of the neck. I still believe it’s an individual jacket thing, not a pattern issue. Even my short time JL (which Carlos has now, displayed this to some extant). This jacket hung right at the back of my neck. It was also too small.

My Sheene measures as follows:
Shoulder 19.75, p2p 24, back 26.5, hem 21.5 so it’s not cramped in any way

Those are TB measurements. Mine are 19.25, 24, 26 and 21.5.

Then why are we seeing this on so many Aero's? I'm not seeing it on Thedi's, Lewis Leathers or Lost Worlds.

A little small at the shoulder. Not terribly but I’d expect at least 19.5” and more like 20”. My 50’s HB is 20” at the shoulder, generous neck hole diameter (around 18” ) and it’s a delight to wear. Feels no heavier than my lightest 5 star.

soon I’ll have posted every jacket I’ve ever owned in this thread. Not a sheene to be seen, any volunteers to fix that?

I’m tempted but now you’ve confirmed my jacket shoulders are too small for you!!
Me thinks you’re onto something. TB measurement of 19.75 was appealing to me but damned if I can stretch the jacket to hit that #. I’ve tried measuring from the front and back and can’t seem to get more than 19.25. On a related note it also confirms why the sleeves at 26.25 don’t seem to be as long as I normally like. The shoulders aren’t wide enough.
I’m sitting in the sun now, feeling the collar pulling me down, hoping it loosens up.

Me thinks you’re onto something. TB measurement of 19.75 was appealing to me but damned if I can stretch the jacket to hit that #. I’ve tried measuring from the front and back and can’t seem to get more than 19.25. On a related note it also confirms why the sleeves at 26.25 don’t seem to be as long as I normally like. The shoulders aren’t wide enough.

LOL. Dude. No. C’mon man. You know better. That is far from a tight fit. If anything I think it’s a good fit, minus the sleeve length (which I prefer a bit longer).

I think it may well be! If the neck hole is smaller than your measured neck...that can’t be good. I agree with Marc about the shoulder width. It doesn’t look like it needs to be any wider. I don’t know, I’m just putting it out there. The only jacket I sold because it hurt to wear was the SB I posted earlier. I absolutely felt that thing digging into my neck and there is no way in Hell I could’ve fastened it all the way up and buttoned the collar closed. I’ll have to take proper measurements of my HB’s neck diameter to be sure.
