I also got mine off the rack two years ago, a battered steer one. Luckily the fit was spot on.Just got a Shackleton off the rack today in 46, perfect fit for me too

Early versions were made with leather backs, but I don't think it really *worked*. It's that difference between a leather jerkin and a jacket without sleeves, I suspect...
