The Speedway does have the chest sizes next to the letters, though, so I think that would be an accurate guide.

Alright, so something amazing happened. In one of my previous posts in this thread I remarked that I liked the "normal" higher button stance of the Rockafella better than the one on mine and that I had opted for the new goatskin if I had known it would become available soon afterwards. After reading this Kenny Calder contacted me and offered to remake the jacked in the final pattern (he said he had not realized that mine was made on a trial pattern instead of the final one) and in the new goat. Well, I wouldn't have asked for it, as the original jacket was pretty amazing but since I really felt the HH was too heavy and stiff for the jacket I accepted. It took me a while to decide which leather to take, but in the end I opted for the mid-brown goat. During this time I took up sports again and felt that I should size up as the original jacket was barely big enough in the chest from the start. In order to still have a nice fit at the waist I asked Kenny if the jacket could be tapered down to the next smaller size in the waist. He agreed!

So today the jacket arrived. I have no fit pics, but I can assure you it fits better and is more comfortable than the first one and the goat leather is much more pliable than the mid-weight HH. I am very pleased with the result. The color is a tiny bit darker than the old russet goat. Under a flashlight it looks much redder than it actually is. As it is a dark and rainy day neither the pics with nor without flash really give a realistic color impression. It is somewhere in between.

It looks great. My last three Aero jackets are seal goatskin, seal jerky HH, and black goatskin. Both of the goatskin jackets are more pliable than the seal jerky HH. Anyhow, I am glad your most recent is an improvement over the other.

Great jacket! I'm trying to convince Holly/Ken to build me a Teamster/Rockafella hybrid. Basically a longer Rockafella with a few elements borrowed from the Teamster. Could you put up some fit pics? I'm trying to decide if I like the cut of this jacket when worn, there are hardly any fit pics of this jacket out there.

I'm tempted by this one too, but have a query for Rudie.

What's the pit-pit, back and sleeve lengths on this 42? Also, I thought this jacket was only made in S, M, L etc, yet yours is a 42. Is that a one-off?

Currently I don't have fit pics of the new one.

wdw, in a sense it's a one-off because of the hybrid size L/M. Shoulders and chest are L, below the armholes it's tapering down to M. The tag in my first one said M. Size M is a 39 and size L a 42. Back and sleeve length were specified by me, so no indicator for Aero's standard measurements. Pit-to-pit is 107 cm, back length 64.5 cm, sleeve length 70 cm.

zhz: Sorry, my bad. In an e-mail Ken told me it was goat.

Thanks Rudie. That pit-pit seems mighty small at 42" for a L or 42. Maybe your tape measure has shrunk.:)

Hmm, I might be going against the grain here but I like the original better. It seems like the new jacket was built with mini-me cuffs that just don't look proportionate

The new jacket is a bigger size and the sleeves are noticeably wider. Especially at the cuff. I don't mind at all, though. I like the leather and the fit much much better now. :)
