Aero Leather Jacket

Good Morning,

I received my new Aero Leather jacket a few weeks ago.
It is the best leather jacket I have seen or ever purchased.
I have had it on only a couple of times.
With my work this time of year I will be unable to wear this beautiful jacket for a few months.
When the jackets arrived from Aero it came in a sturdy cardboard box wrapped in bubble wrap.
Would this new jacket be ok to be wrapped loosely in the bubble wrap and stored in the original box from Aero Leather for a month or two? Thank you

Congrats on your new Aero jacket.
Don't think that you would need the bubble wrap. That's just to avoid damage in shipping. Plus to store in the box can easily cause folds to appear in the jacket. Why not just either lay it somewhere or hang it on a nicer broad wooden hanger. Some even wrap a hanger in foam. Hey...the bubble wrap might work pretty good for just that..!!

I never hang my leathers up. I always get the image in my mind of the jacket strecthing though it probably is nothing to worry about. I just toss them somewhere where they lay flat for the summer.

Clothes should be able to breath air when in storage, or so my tailor tells me. Plastic wrap is no good.

Congratulations on your new Aero jacket. I received my Aero LHB a bit less than two weeks ago and although it's way too warm to wear it (I did so for several days indoors just to give it some character) for now. I have the coat hanging on a free standing coat rack using a large wooden hanger and just draped a clean sheet over the jacket for the time being. This prevents the coat from getting dusty plus it permeates my bedroom with that wonderful leather aroma. My walk-in closets are well stocked with my other leather jackets/coats so I'm giving special treatment to my LHB for now.

I have way too many leather jackets to just lay them out around the house and I've been using sturdy wooden hangers since I can remember and haven't had any stretching or other ill effects. As HoosierDaddy mentioned, you can use the bubble wrap on the hanger to create a cushion/padding for the jacket to rest on.

I wouldn't put the jacket back in the shipping box and wrap it with bubble wrap for any extended time though.

My house would be a total mess if I didn't hang them up lol

I wouldn't even worry about it, honestly. but I also understand the frame of mind of a brand new owner and how you don't want to jack up the high end investment (using your hard earned money). I'd say get a super nice jacket hanger. Only keep the box if you are like me and plan to ship out a jacket every week or so

Coingratulations and welcome to the Lounge. If you use a hanger, use one that is broad that will provide better support than a narrow hanger.

I think some here have ordered an Aerostich:

Hi, Steven. Welcome. What others said, just toss them somewhere and you can occasionally once a month turn them over or something, which is what I do. Then again, I'm in love with these things so I sometimes try them on even in the middle of the hottest summer but that's me. It sucks you can't wear it anymore but it is a great feeling knowing you're ready and set for the next autumn/winter. I just hope to catch at least one cold(ish) week 'cause it sucks that I just landed my holy grail of a jacket that I can't even think of wearing ATM.

What did you get, by the way??

I have broken buttons in the past on floored jackets due to my own clumsiness.Would be a tragedy with some of those beautiful Corozo buttons or the buttons on Orgueil jackets.

Yes, as to Fanch's post. Some of the ones I use are even wider than the ones he has pictured, maybe 1 1/2 as wide. The others are about the same size. Have had no problem for a number of years storing the jackets on either size hanger.

BTW, welcome to the Lounge. PC

Good Evening, I asked Denny at Aero to make a "Half Belt Deluxe" in Tumbled Brown CXFQHH. He made it just as he said he would. Just perfect!

This forum has been very polite and helpful. Thank you.

I switched over to plastic hangers when I discovered some mold on a wooden one.

The half-belt delux is a fantastic design we don't see much of...
Looking forward to your pictures.
