I usually leave new jackets lying on the rug in my bedroom, so I can tread on them (barefoot) as I pass. Just helps with the breaking in process... But, yes, I try them on too...

nice idea, :D I imagine I would find furballs, or dead lizard in it if I do that.

Haha! I recommend investing in a Meile vacuum cleaner. They do the job. But that FQHH is stiff, and you've gotta soften them up over the summer months.

Nice work, Steve. Beautiful jacket and an excellent portrait of your wife! What medium is the painting? (it looks like watercolor...)

Good Morning, All of my portraits are dry brush lascaux acrylic on a gessoed panel and my "Birds of Crocker Hill' series are dry brush WN watercolour on Waterford watercolour paper.

Superlative painting, Steven. I searched for some of your work and found a handful of images and they are excellent. Not everyone knows how unforgiving watercolor is and you are obviously a master. Really beautiful work.

I painted for years and the German Expressionists (Emil Nolde particularly) were my philosophical heroes (as I always overworked paintings and completely lacked the patience to properly learn watercolor technique). :(

Enjoy your new leather in great health and that magnificent studio of yours: it looks amazing!

Cheers :D

Good Morning, I have worn my Half Belt Deluxe a few times on cool days here in St. Andrews, New Brunswick since my last post. It is getting hotter as the summer days come and go. I keep going back to Aero's site looking at a new Aero Premier Range 1930s Highwayman in Tumbled Cordovan CXFQH. I think his would be a good great addition with this choice of Tumbled Cordovan CXFQH. Have a great day. Smile.

Wow, nobody makes 'em better than AERO LEATHERS... The workmanship is amazing and you can almost feel the softness and quality of the skins from the image. Nice!

I also like the look of the Aero "Plainsman". If I decide on the "Plainsman" I would ask Aero to put a yoke on the back starting at the sleeve seam on the back of the sleeve like on the Highwayman. Buying an Aero jacket is like buying a good watch. With proper maintenance and careful wear it will last you a life time.
I inherited a leather bomber style or a Happy Days style horsehide jacket thirty years ago. It was purchased in 1948 from a relative as a graduation gift from a store called "JC Penney" in Calais, Maine, USA. When I received it I had to have a new lining, knitted cuffs and waistband replaced. The cuffs and waistband are once again wore out.
I still wear it and it does smell bit like a horse and very heavy.
Have a great day.

The ultimate FQHH tenderiser.

Good Afternoon.

Below is the 68 year old horsehide jacket I inherited about thirty years ago.

I am trying to find the right company who can replace the knitted cuffs, waistband and

a new lining. I want the leather jacket cleaned and conditioned as well.

I am standing beside one of my latest portraits, "RQ" a friend of ours from British Columbia.
