Aero leather halfbelt

So after selling my size 42 which was a little short in the arms and looking out for a size 44 and buying my Y2 leather jacket I was able to pick up a brown halfbelt in size 44. I have to say that I need a size 42 with longer sleeves and not a size 44. After wearing my Y2 leather jacket I feel like I'm swimming in this one even with the half belt all the way pulled in.

Also now I'm starting to see how this becomes a big money pit lol.

It doesn't look bad but but the shoulders are a bit droopy and de bottom hem is definitively too wide.

Like you've learned the hard way, sizing up doesn't necessarily mean an increase in body or arm length. In fact, with Aero it doesn't have to mean anything at all. If you visit their sales page today I bet you'll find a jacket size 42 with longer sleeves and wider body than the same model in a size 44.

Always check a couple of basic numbers: Chest (pit to pit); back length; sleeve length.

Shoulder width is more forgiving but keep in mind that a narrow shoulder will result in a relatively shorter sleeve length. Personally I also check bottom hem width. Because I don't have any hips, jackets can easily be too wide which results in an overhang.

I know but I was hoping to get as close as possible without having to buy a new one. The seller did not post length and there was only 30 mins before auction was over so I decided to chance it. All in $400 is not too bad so I will keep it just in case I gain weight again lol.

You might also want to look for an Aero 30s half-belt. This is the 50s style.
