Aero Barnstormer Sizing?

Can any loungers / Barnstormer owners provide actual measurements (pit, waist, bottom hem) for their size 40 Barnstormers? I have a 42 which fits fine for winter / sweater weather but Im curious how trim the next size down would be.

I'm ordering a second one in a different color and might want this to be more of a fall jacket worn with just a button up shirt. Undecided on sticking with the size 42 or attempting 40. However, being a longer coat, I don't want it tight around my butt/hip area.

Knew that response was coming. The predictable forum plug for Thurston.

I already own a "fit jacket", my size 42 Barnstormer. Asking for measurements of the size 40. Thanks

I've got a Barnstormer in size 40 - was wearing it just last week - I'll drag the tape measure out tomorrow and take some measurements.

Thanks Smithy. Really appreciate it. My Black FQHH 42 is prefect with a sweater/cooler weather but just a little too loose when worn with a thin shirt. However, I think Black looks ok a bit larger whereas brown would look sloppy. Guess thats why they say black is a "slimming color" ha

Im also trying to decided on whether my second barnstormer should be Brown or Cordovan. And then horse vs steer. Waiting on samples from Aero. Did you stick with the wool / loose hem lining?

OK, here you go, the measurements for my size 40 Barnstormer:

Pit to pit: 23''
Shoulders: 19''
Sleeve length: 25.5''
Back (from bottom of collar to hem): 31''

As you'll see they're sized larger than a normal tagged 40 size Aero jacket but one thing to note is the shoulder size isn't particularly generous - at least with mine. I'm right on the limit with 19'', I can put a jumper on underneath it but forget about folding my arms without trouble. Also to note, mine was bought secondhand so not custom made.

HTH,

Tim

Thank you sir. Unfortunately confirms my theory, that I'm truly in between Aero sizes in all their styles! :( Size 40 a bit snug, but 42 too big. Why can't they make a 41 ha. Guess it's stick with a 42 and then a date with some hot water / clothes dryer
