I agree with you...but those guys over at COW are literally lined up with a 1 year wait and a $300 price tag. Steve is even upping the price to mark demand for the new film, and momentum is gaining.
I would speculate, however, that at least a few of those orders may be cancelled as the 'frenzy' slows.

Wrong! COW member price is much less than that. :p

Unless I am mistaken there are, in the works, plans for a factory made Adventurebilt rabbit / hare model to hopefully coincide with the films release. I think there are details over out COW.

And on the Fedora Chronicles, Steve and Marc are allowed to post there too. Unlike here.

Marc does post here at times. Steve is welcome to. They're both too busy making hats, I'm sure. COW is understandably where they spend their limited Internet time.

There is no need to try to create any issues. Obviously Steve has a very strong following here at FL. As I've already stated, I'm eagerly awaiting my own AB at the end of the month and have another on order. I am absolutely thrilled at the success he's having right now. I think it's a wonderful thing.

This is pure speculation on my part but, from some of the posts that Ken from Camptown made about being licensed to use Steve and Marc's KOTCS blocks, it would lead me to assume that Camptown will be their manufacturer. I could be wrong, but I can't imagine Steve and Marc giving out that block shape to too many people. And, with the COW/FL connection, it keeps it a little closer to home.

Regards, Andy

Wrong.lol

The Camptown 1957 will be blocked by Steve and sold buy Ken. The Factory AB's will be made in a European factory.

If you wade through Ken's Camptown "Legend" post in the vendor section at COW (easier than navigating the entire Factory Made AB thread), his is not the factory hat... He's just making hats using the AB KotCS block, with permission of course. As I understand it, the Factory Hat is being made in Europe by the same company that made the original hats for Herbert Johnson in the 1980's.

Cheers,

RC

BTW- avatar is an AB Deluxe :D

Yes, this is my understanding as well. They are separate enterprises. The Camptown hat is a reality. He will be accepting orders soon. The factory hat details still haven't been entirely nailed down last I saw. But if they have found the Grail of hat factories it will be a hat to get for those interested in the Indy stuff, and I assume those in this thread are.

Wrong again! :p True Steve spends time on COW, but he also hangs out at the Fedora Chronicles. He and Marc have been stating their case regarding the Parade Magazine article where a cat from Baron's Hats claims to have done the Indy 4 hat. :rage:

A very interesting read.

OSF, I'm not interested in arguing with you about this. I'm a member at COW and read it regularly. Marc and Steve are grown-ups who can post wherever they choose to. Both are welcome to post here anytime they want to. If they don't choose to it's not because they are not allowed to. If you want to gripe about FL please go do it on another board because I'm tired of reading it here.

This thread is about AB hats. If you have something useful and accurate to add about them please post it. The information you were posting about Camptown hats was factually wrong. Steve is not doing the blocking. They are being done on the block that he designed with his permission.

right down the street.

I'm about to leave ATL and head to Mississippi to visit my parents. They just so happen to live in the charming town of Columbus....I want to call steve and come see him do his magic in person, considering he lives in the same city, but I know he's busy. Oh well. :(

I am going to say this..

I LOVE THE FEDORA LOUNGE...

The last I talked to Steve ..I understood he was no longer a member here.

Steve is a fantastic guy, a great hatter and a fellow Southerner . :D

But after the deal with the advertising he was put off of the forum, and some of the reason was his fault... BUT ... has not been allowed to 'rejoin'.
If I am wrong..{and I could very well be} that is the soul reason Steve does not have any recent post here.

Steve is the only "kid on the block" if you want the Indy hat from the new movie . . . In only 2 posts you asked about Adventurebilt and then seemingly denounce it.

Wow! bring it down a notch - let's not shoot from the hip here. I heard his lids were primo-quality, however, I didn't order a "Indy" fedora. I also didn't denounce him at all, I said he's kinda hard to get a hold of...sheesh.

Hey, take it easy, fella. I believe my opening words were "this is pure speculation". Don't just jump down people's throats like that, eh? If you're trying to make other people look/feel like idiots, then do it somewhere else.

lol lol Reminds me of Forrest and Bubba sittin' in the jungle in 'Nam. "Hey, Forrest, you lean against my back and I'll lean against your back, then we don't gotta get wet!" Circle the wagons with weapons charged! I tell ya, some people are way too quick to correct everybody else. Another quote, this time from Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore: "The price is wrong, B1+C#!!!"
