I neglected to post pics at the time, but this Adam "Skyway" passed through my hands several months ago. It was since tossed into the 'Bay, where somebody in California dug it out.

Won this by the skin of my max bid's teeth. Arrived today. 2 1/2" brim, 4 1/2" Optimo blocked crown.

Leather is butter soft, and in good shape other than a bit of wear around the stamped area.
Size tag looks like one I saw upthread on a hat attributed to the Thirties. The sweatband stamp looks like one on a hat attributed to the late Forties. So, my guess is somewhere in between.

Genuine Panama, Royal Quality. Cool looking stamp too!

Nice fine weave. Not as fine as some on the Lounge, but the finest Panama I have. 80 grams. Stiffer than my Cuenca, but not at all brittle.

The obligatory inside the crown shot backlit by the sun.

I believe "totally stoked" is a phrase that best describes my feelings about this hat.
I shall look forward to a sunny windless day tomorrow. And hope it is so.

M-Hawk; CONGRATS sir. That is a sweet panama. Wear that in pride.

I have sat with vtg. panama hat in hand in the past thinking about the artisan who created the straw. The detailed effort of the weaver is amazing. Th effort, beauty and execution is inspiring. They had no idea it would end up in the hands of a fellow in N. California. Appreciate it and wear it well.

@moehawk Moe , Congratulations ! Nice Adam Optimo , and Great Job with the dime showing the weave inside and out . Sweet Adam Optimo Panama !

I've looked through this thread TWICE at least , I know , to see if the Adam Executive Quality I got from Harv is on here , but I don't see it . I'll have to get some pictures , Harv had some Great Ones on the Adam in the Classifieds . Mine probably won't be as cool . g.durand sold it to Harv , Harv to me . Nice Hat . I'll see what I can do (later though) . Awesome Hat !

Nice catch Moe, hard to beat a vintage straw no matter milan, Panama, or other. I'm fairly certain your old Adam is from Cuenca if that matters to you, it doesn't to me. I love my straws from both Cuenca and Monticristi, as well as those from the far east. My current favorite vintage straw hat is actually burlap in fact. So if only the weather here in the PNW would start cooperating, I've had my straws pulled out and waiting for regular rotation for over a month.

Hi. How about a pic of the burlap vintage? Thanks.

Thanks, Denton. A little of the roundness may be due to the fact that I used an open crown milliner's block to gently smooth away some wrinkles in the straw that gave the crown a kind of geometric effect . But, it did have that basic shape already. I'm always messing with my hats, so it will probably be subtly different soon enough!
