A Zippo for pipe and cigar smokers

Does anyone know, if the very basic "Regular Street Brass" Zippo does age well?

We don't have Walmart here, but maybe I will find the super basic Zippo anywhere.

The brass will patina, evenly if it's uncoated (I believe it is) or in spots where the clear paint wears off first. Whether that's a positive or a negative is up to you. May make your hands smell funny if it's uncoated brass, no big deal.

As far as scratches and scuffs are concerned, the street finish Zippos hold up very well. Any new scratches blend into the ones it came with.

Could a Zippo be useful as an emergency-stove on camping? I try to imagine, that could work for heating up a small pot of food??

Way too little flame. It'd work but it would take forever and you'd run out of fuel before you got anywhere with it.

Now I got the basic yellow flame butane insert ("A 22"), because today I found a store, having it on stock.

So let's see, how reliable it is! This first day was fun.

But I get the point, why the simple chrome brushed basic Zippo is very popular. It's just super grippy!
