At long last I've located and managed to purchase a 'Vintage' series Alpha L2B in XL. Whilst not the most accurate I am fond of this series & it can sit on the clothes rail alongside the 'Vintage' series MA1 & B15s.

The cut of this jacket is very trim & short in length & only slightly more spacious than a late 70's original Alpha L2B I now possess. It's quite a bit trimmer & shorter than the current Chinese made Alpha L2Bs.

Yeah, whereas the B15 repalced the B10 which was really, imo, shooting more after replacing the B3 than the A2, the L2 jackets were the first (long overdue) replacement for the A2 since the postwar, nylon jackets took over. I have the "L2A" version of this model. Really nice jacket - just wish I could have found a Replca Series version in the navy blue. The only company I know of reproducing the L2s these days is Buzz Rickson, and frankly I'm damned if I'm going to pay out that kind of money for what is, in the last instance, a shower-proof nylon windbreaker. Last I looked they're now GBP400, which is crazy.

I'm very much with you there Edward. BRs are beautifully and faithfully made but like you I could never entertain the idea of spending that much money on a nylon flight jacket.

Nice score BN and pleased to see you finally tracked one down.
