A teeny thing 'counter-vintage' about you?

If anyone is looking for a flip-flop alternative, may I suggest Clarks sandals. They're much more expensive than flip-flops, but they're uber-comfy. The thick sole insulates your feet from the heat and provides good support. They wear well, too. I'm still wearing my five-year-old pair: they're now my dance shoes.

These aren't the ones I wear, but they're very cute:

Oh, my gosh! I'm only occasionally vintage. I'm utterly surrounded by Star Wars in my home. And my expected work clothes cosist of jeans and T-shirts. I'm considered an oddity in my department, because I wear fitted Ts with no logos!

Aside from liking manners (although not slavish addition to tradition) and proper use of grammar, I'm about 99% non-vintage.

Give me CDs, not vinyl. The Internet, not a letter. Give it to me now, I don't have time to wait.

I like hats. That's what got me here.:p :p

Hmmm...when it comes to non-vintage things in life, I would have to admit I love my iPod Nano (but it is all loaded with Dean Mora & Glenn Miller & Benny Goodman among others); I would wither without my computer for work, research, keeping in contact with friends far and near -- my partner pointed out Webster's added a new term to this year's dictionary - "mouse potato" - and asked if they'd called to request my photo for the descriptionary example; and though not a big Mac fan personally, I think iTunes is wonderful. You think of one song, old or new, you don't have or need for whatever reason, you log on, pay 99 cents and it's playing on your computer in seconds. The cell phone's handy...if I could only get the old-fashioned dial-phone ring sound to work right. And I suppose, Ebay's got to be mentioned. You log on, find a super hat or great suit offered for sale from someone in Peoria or Miami or San Diego and you've got it in your hands in a matter of days.

You don't wanna see my flip-flops. lol I really only wear 'em in the back yard, when I go out for a smoke. I can't walk in 'em, the soles of my feet rub as I walk and get hotter'n a pistol.

And true vintage clothes (with at least one wonderful exception) just don't fit me, so I try to find stuff that's classically styled.

I play squad-based shoot-em-up computer games.

Such as?

Myself, I think the only thing remotely vintage about me is my wardrobe choices. :p

I also collect Star Wars memorabilia, but not action figures anymore, now I focus on more high-end stuff like statues and busts; I probably couldn't live without my DVD Player and Hi-Def television; not using air-conditioning in hot weather is not an option; and my RAZR V3 is essential.:p
