These 3 from Art Fawcett qualify, I think:

That's the great thing about a loose affiliations - everyone qualifies. Brotherhoods and guilds are so exclusive. Here in the loose affiliation, we're all just gathering around a relative term. :D

Hi,

Hmmm. Snow in our forecast. As I'm South of Raleigh, we're supposed to get more of it this time around. Might be time to take a few hats to the old photo studio and do some shootin'.

Anyone have a good suggestion for the best of the online photo hosters these days? It's been awhile since I did any of this.

I still need to know, if a 6-ligne is considered thin or not under this loose affiliation. I have a couple of those, but would not want to confuse the issue as I don't think we've seen any 6's in the thread yet....

Hi,

Aw. The snow came, 5-6 inches worth, but didn't stick around. It was gone by 4 PM Saturday. So, no snow-in to steal the time to play with the hats and the cameras.

I'll get to it in a week or so after I get thru the current projects. I have to shoot some stuff for web selling anyway, so that'll be a good time to sneak in a hat or twelve. :D

I think I have a signature prop idea, though, if it works. I can't see why not, but sometimes what looks great in the mind's eye looks bad thru the old lens....

Jimmy, please consider this a compliment to your skills - I have to ask: Is that Majestic factory creased or hand creased? I would normally not ask the question, because it's so perfect I would assume it's factory.

Chinaski -- That's the factory crease on the Majestic. I may have tweaked the side dents just a tad, but, in general, I kept the factory crease.

Cheers,

Hi,

Well, I just finished up fixing up one of my farming hats. It needed a new sweatband, and the ribbon was a frayed, stained mess. I took the opportunity to completely clean and block the thing while I was at it.

It's an old tan OR clone so it was originally a 4 ligne matching hatband with 4 ligne matching edge binding. Both ribbons were a mess.

Now, it sports a raw edge and a nice mid-shade of grey 9 ligne just because we've been chatting about the middle range of ribbon widths here.

It's not perfect, as it *is* a working hat and I wasn't going to go all crazy and sand the thing down, but it came out pretty good anyway. I rather like that ribbon on it.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know. There are no pictures and I'm worthless! :eusa_doh:

I will get that part straightened out one day soon. In the meantime, I'll try not to wear the thing around the farm until I do so I don't muck it all up before I can get it shot. lol

Besides, I'm currently wearing another hat around the farm on a daily basis. This one is a true Stetson 4x (50's vintage) OR that also could use a bit of a rework. Sweatband's OK in that one but, once again, the ribbon is in pretty sad shape. I might have to re-do that one in a mid-range width as well. :D

Yes, after the first few, I was totally addicted. The not thin, not fat ribbon really works for me and alot of the pre-1954 Adams seem to be that style.
