A GREEN fedora that suits me - finally!

Remember that vintage '40s green fedora whose broad brim I thought of altering? (Don't worry, I won't. Promise.) Well, I'm trying to get used to it, but no luck so far. May end up selling the thing, or may not.

I figured I'd try again with another green fedora. Thanks to eBay, this one just came in: it has a narrower brim and ribbon. A nice mossy green, lighter than the other fedora. Looks to be '50s. I like it!

Thanks! I wanted so much for the other green fedora to suit me -- it's better made than this one, and the felt is finer. Still, after more than a month, that hat still isn't cutting the mustard for me. I'll keep trying, but it seems silly to keep two green fedoras when one is enough.

It has been my experience that you simply cannot get comfortable with some hats no matter how hard you try or how much other people say they look good. [huh]

This one is a winner.

I agree. There are some hats which suit you from the beginning, and there are others that grow on you. My broad-brimmed green hat seems to be neither. Still, I'll give it another month or so.

What part of the 50s do you think? Early 50s maybe. I does look well fit for your face. Nice hat!

Maybe early to mid '50s. The proportions are middle-of-the-road: the ribbon's width, the crown's height, the brim's width match each other well. Neither too little nor too much. Boring? Some might say so. Classic? Definitely.
