OK, so this guy obviously has LOTS of free time, but it seems that since he's fully documented making this little gem, it might not be that bad after all.

Since I am now a Man of Leisure, i think i'll give this a try:

I've already hidden my surround-sound speakers inside vintage Cathedral radios, this might be a good next step!

And if anyone is heavy into games you can built yourself a battle chair from an office chair with the speakers embedded so you can FEEL the bass of sound effects and the stereo of it up near the head.
