Ha, I've heard that song and thought the same! Unfortunately I can't fully claim such a title, I'm transplanted from Russia. I wish I lived in South Carolina! I absolutely loved Charleston when I visited! Such a vibrant atmosphere and the people were plenty friendly! But people, at least up here, say that natives look down on you if you move there. [huh] I guess it's the "Old Guard" deal and what not.

Russia, cool! (literally). If you're not in South Carolina are you up with Big Man in North Carolina? Charleston is lovely, it's so beautiful. Maybe I'll move there one day, and if any of the natives have anything to say about it, I'll tell them that my family landed in Charleston in 16 something. So step off. I'll tell them to let you move there too.

There's a quote from someone in the 18th century (can't remember just who right now, but I'll look it up) that goes something like: "North Carolina is a valley of humility between two mountains of conceit."

I'll agree with you, LadyStardust and Miss Lucy June, Charleston is a fantastic city. But, I still like "calling Carolina home" !
