I've got whole book from 20's about etiquette. There is even a chapter about handshaking, but it is in Czech languague. Someone interested in computer-assisted translation?

This annoys me no end. I work in bridal and bridesmaids so at trade shows or Designer days your always expected to do the whole kiss thing. The problem is that everyone is from different parts of the world where the kisses can range from 1 to 4. Plus I don't like getting that close. I will happily offer my hand for a handshake, but I don't like the kissing one bit. *shudder* strange men and women you've never met before (possibly met once before) kissing your cheek for me feels weird and uncomfortable.

While I'm not necessarily comfy with a regular handshake to ladies as I am to other men, Betty, what annoys me no end is how the hug thing is infiltrating business greetings some here in the States. I've seen lady VPs go round the room at national meetings hugging all the men etc before the meeting starts with this mushy "good to see you again" greeting. Give me a break! Keep it professional and save the hugs for family.
