Some of the early "nice girl" styles and mature 1960s styles are nice. I don't like that the skirts crept up. The hair is more in my favor than in the golden era decades but I don't think they're nicer. Just easier for me to wear. The make-up is easier for me to do but I don't care for pale lips most of the time.

Maybe it's a jealous reaction:eek: I don't feel I have the eyes for 60s make-up. Maybe I just don't see the potential for me?

Annette and Connie looked very nice in the early 1960s. Connie continued to wear beautiful styles.

I can't tell when this is from but I like her make-up and the coloring in general: http://phillipphiles.files.wordpress.com/2007/10/annette.jpg

Nice for a relatively nude look:

I can't tell when they're from but if any celebrity inspires my style and make-up then it's Connie in her younger days:

I want those lipsticks:

I had a better image of this one some where:eusa_doh: : http://www.nugrape.net/confranc.jpg <<< I do own lighter pink lipsticks like that and they look okay in Spring before I gain any color.

I have to admit that I prefer the stylish, smooth, full, updos of the 1960s (and early 70s) even if they require hair pieces over some of the styles from the golden era. On an every day basis, my preference for smooth updos and some of my casual styles may appear more 1960s than 50s though I really don't care for the looks I associate with the 1960s such as nude make-up, very bouffant or graphic haircuts, shorter skirts, slimmer and undefined lines in tailoring. Maybe I'm wrong?

I think of the 60's as very focused on a dramatic eye rather than lip. To do a 60s look I usually bouffant my hair (of course!), put on a pale shimmer eye shadow, line my eyes with a dark liquid liner and wing it out for a cat eye. Then big, piece-y (not natural looking) false lashes finished with lots of mascara on the top and bottom lashes.

For lips, usually something coral, pink, or shimmery. I'm sure nude would work too but I'm not really a nude lip kind of gal.

Is it true that the shimmery make-up was invented in the 1950s? So, can I still get away with it in a 1950s context when I wear more youthful styles? I could be wrong but I'm assuming that more mature women wouldn't so quickly have converted to new make-up styles.

Me too! :eusa_clap

Any thread about 1960s make up and hair would not be complete without Veruschka, one of the first supermodels ,who ruled during the late 60s.
