    Recommendations for men's dress shoes?

If you wanna give it a try I’d say get a pair of Meermins & get some sole savers and steel toe taps. That should last you years without a single resole while still being reasonable in price. I also strongly recommend using shoe trees, it makes a huge difference. If you're in the US you can also...

    Minimalist Wardrobe

There is just something very funny about some of us thinking 5 pairs of shoes is the absolute minimum when many men out there dont even own 3! I could probably do with just one; some dark brown cap toe oxfords.

Vintage Borsalino hat, wool or felt?

I’m pretty sure at the very bottom it says: “Water repellent fur felt”

    Flat cap recommendations

I am aware of them, but they seem to mostly make more modern slimmer styles and no leather sweats. Thanks.

    Flat cap recommendations

I guess I was right about them being hard to find these days. To be clear I’m not excluding options based outside of Europe. Anything up to $200 is within my price range.

    High Rise Jeans

I bought a pair of wide legged high rise jeans from a Chinese maker called Red tornado, and I mean really wide and high. Cuffed too. The quality actually seems quite nice but they apparently run almost two sizes too big. Ill have to try to get them tailored at some point. The way they are made...

    Flat cap recommendations

I'm looking to buy another flat cap. Specifically I'm looking for something in a classic wide style and with a leather sweat band. I currently have only one flat cap I bought from Hornskov when they were still selling them. They said these caps were made in England for them but by whom I dont...

    Oumuamua

If any planet has sent us radio messages thousands or hundreds of years in the past, enough time would have passed to where they can probably now visit us in flying saucers in all but 5 minutes. So that's pretty funny. Keep in mind that the time window where any given civilization might be...

    Fishermen's sweaters site

That’s the exact sort of thing I was looking for. I did find this Belgian web store; what do you think the chances are its the exact same sweater they are selling? Ordering from Belgium would be more convenient for me.

Broken zipper pull on new Rainbow Country leather jacket

I mean, I'm sure you could match most of these jackets with their historical counterpart considering just how many jackets have been made, but are they specifically advised as historical reproductions? I dont recall reading that in the product descriptions of most jackets I've looked at, though...

Broken zipper pull on new Rainbow Country leather jacket

What do people have against YKK zippers? I always thought they had a stellar reputation. Are most of these jackets really repros? What model specifically are they reproducing? Most of them look rather generic. I always just looked at them as "vintage inspired" jackets. Outside of the ones...

    Fishermen's sweaters site

There seem to be some UK made reproductions of Royal Navy submariner sweaters that look promising, but how thick they are is difficult to gauge from pictures. On another note if anyone is interested in a almost brand new Irish made submariner sweater in M let me know.

    Fishermen's sweaters site

A while ago I bought a turtle neck submariner sweater from Aran Crafts, but I found its too thick to comfortably wear underneath my leather jacket. Can anyone recommend a sweater similar in style which is a little thinner? Something that's tightly knit and not too long. Ideally made & sold...

Any good tan cowhide oil leather jackets? budget - unlimited

After reading through this thread, I feel obliged to state that it is possible to be of assistance without being demeaning, although I understand it might be a crazy concept for some. Lets stick to what's helpful and cut the childish crap. If they already knew everything they wouldn't be here...

    Recommendations for men's dress shoes?

No AE or GS Ive never seen I would describe as sleek or pointed, they all look quite "blobby" to me. Similar to many British makers. To me its a night and day difference to those Spanish brands, but everyone has to use their own judgement. Whether one if more comfortable than the other depends...

    Recommendations for men's dress shoes?

The OP asked for shoes with a sleek last and very pointed toe, I do not know why people are recommending Grant Stone or Allen Edmonds, which are brands not known for sleek and pointed lasts. Grant Stone isn't known for Oxfords at all, although they do make some. Neither does John lobb, G&G or EG...

    Recommendations for men's dress shoes?

People say HW is so much more durable, but tell me, where are you going to find a cobbler to resole your HW shoe to original specifications? Are you going to send it back to the manufacturer each time and potentially wait months? Pay hundreds to have another cobbler do it? Or are you going to do...

    Recommendations for men's dress shoes?

US makers are not known for sleek lasts or pointy toes. For that you’ll likely have to look else where, like Italy and Spain. Unless you’re looking for cowboy boots. All GYW RTW & MTM shoes are basically made the same using the same materials, regardless of whether you pay 200 or 2000. Hand...

Parcels wrapped & tied with string.

You guys are of course right. I've looked at a few videos of these distribution & sorting centres after reading about the issue, and I really can't see a package getting stuck as long as the string is not super loose. Keep in mind many things are regularly shipped in loose bags (i.e clothing)...
