I’m planning on ordering one of their Dubow A2s in goatskin and am looking for some input regarding sizing. I’ve already mailed FS about the fit and am waiting for a response, but a second opinion never hurts.
I’m looking for a classic, relaxed fit. Similar to how the originals fit. I wanna be...
Just my personal opinion. I believe that we either already posses the necessary tech to deal with a serious asteroid should one become a problem, or that "others" will deal with it for us if its sufficiently dangerous. Either way if it ever became necessary chances are we would never even know...
Against asteroids/comets there are a few viable solutions:
Change the objects trajectory/orbit enough so that it misses earth. This can be accomplished by detonations in close proximity to the object or an impactor (effectively "pushing" it). For this to be effective it requires data of the...
Just bought this Coat on the bay, dont know anything about it. Label says:
G. B. Conte wool mill
since 1757 in Schio (Italy)
Pure virgin wool
Brand is evidently "SALCO". Does anyone know anything about the brand or how old the coat might be? Looks 60s to me. Is it a good score? I Paid €80.
It arrived today, here is a shot of the label:
Unfortunately it turned out to be a UK 7 1/4, so the hat is two sizes too big rather then only one as I had hoped. So ill probably be selling it on eventually. Beautiful condition tho.
It is definitely a rubber smell. If its truly the rubber itself then like you said the ozone would only work temporarily. I will try it with the vinegar first.
I bought a rubber rain coat from 1962. Its an unissued army coat. The coat was never worn but stinks (!) to high hell. Even after wiping down the inside and outside the smell persists. Outside of buying an ozone generator is there anything I can do? Is it simply the old rubber outgassing?
Late 18th century French court suits. I’m serious. I absolutely love them. They just went all out with no regard for cost or convenience and I respect that immensely. So colourful, creative and flamboyant. The patterns, embroidery and other details are mesmerizing. But they’re not exactly common...
I usually will wear either A tweed flat cap or brown fedora with it. There is really nothing special about Indy’s clothes, it’s a pretty standard outfit for the time period and I find myself wearing something similar by pure coincidence quite often whenever I wear a leather jacket. I doesn't...
If you wanna give it a try I’d say get a pair of Meermins & get some sole savers and steel toe taps. That should last you years without a single resole while still being reasonable in price. I also strongly recommend using shoe trees, it makes a huge difference.
If you're in the US you can also...
There is just something very funny about some of us thinking 5 pairs of shoes is the absolute minimum when many men out there dont even own 3!
I could probably do with just one; some dark brown cap toe oxfords.
I guess I was right about them being hard to find these days. To be clear I’m not excluding options based outside of Europe. Anything up to $200 is within my price range.
I bought a pair of wide legged high rise jeans from a Chinese maker called Red tornado, and I mean really wide and high. Cuffed too. The quality actually seems quite nice but they apparently run almost two sizes too big. Ill have to try to get them tailored at some point. The way they are made...
I'm looking to buy another flat cap. Specifically I'm looking for something in a classic wide style and with a leather sweat band.
I currently have only one flat cap I bought from Hornskov when they were still selling them. They said these caps were made in England for them but by whom I dont...
