Along the sames lines, find a granite countertop fabricator/installer in your area. They may have sink cutouts that they may give you or sell you for cheap. These things stack up and cost them to dispose of. Win-win for everyone

That makes sense - thank you. Maybe that is the reasoning for how Borsalino does it with the machine. "Stitch in the Ditch" - I like it

I assume that you baste it in place first, then stitch it in place through the tape on the sweat (while the leather is flipped out)

Excellent! Thank you for this information. The video of Bosalino factory person sewing on the sweatband was doing it in what appeared to be an interesting way (perhaps this is normal?). They had the sweatband laid in its final position in the hat, and the hat and brim was laid on top of the...

If you are talking about the Singer 107-1 knock offs - yes, very expensive. The walking foot cylinder arm machines are in the same neighborhood, but I could use them for other tasks. Is the chain stitch used so it can be easily pulled out. Is it the large spacing of the stitches? Just...

Cylinder Arm sewing machine for sweatbands? I know that the Singer 107-1 (or similar) is used specifically for sewing in sweatbands using a chainstitch, but I was wondering why a chainstitch? I just watched a YT video on Borsalino hat manufacturing using what looked like a walking foot...

Regarding hat blocks, I now have purchased three. All three are wood. All three appear to be vintage. All have the boss or center post underneath. However, each has a different size center hole. One is 5/8" (with a metal flange), one is 3/4" (with a metal flange with a few open holes on the...

Unless I am going to exercise , I too pretty much always have a hat on when I leave the house. I wear what I feel comfortable in. I guess some of my hats are kickaround old and a little beat up, so technically distressed. Kinda like me!

I have seen a significant uptick of Fouquet hats on ebay. Perhaps purposely distressed hats are starting to fall out of style?

Sweet Belfastboy, Sweet steaming setup! But I, couldn't help notice that the three hat blocks have three different surface treatments. One looks like it was coated with a polyurethane or varnish, another looks like it has no sealant or coating at all, and the third looks like it has an oil...

I I was just thinking about what size 3D printer would be needed to print out a flange. My hat size is 57cm and I prefer a brim on a fedora to be between 2 5/8 and 2 3/4.

What is the largest dimension of a flange that can be used to make a 2 5/8” brim for an average sized head?

Love it! Looks very sharp. I have been doing something similar. I have a small stack of printed silk tie panels from way back when I was in the necktie business. Can't remember why I salvaged them or why I held onto them for so long, but I am glad that I did. I ordered some pug hooks and have...
