    Golden Era Styled Clocks

Seth Thomas Mantle Clock I moved several months ago, and of course packed the pendulum weight for this clock somewhere I couldn't find until tonight. Now I finally get to see if it'll even run properly, since after being repaired there was no place to put it where I'd been living previously...

    Electric hand mixers?

You could always get a Mixmaster, and use it as a handheld since it easily detaches from the base to do so. ;)

    O'Keefe & Merritt

Finally, finally got the gas company out today, and with the new valve installed we were able to connect the old thing and light 'er up!

    O'Keefe & Merritt

I just spent the last two weeks trying to find a connector that would fit the wall valve in this old place, and only today did I get someone on the phone in Pasadena who not only knew exactly what I was talking about, but explained to me that the valve in question has been illegal for a number...

Thanks. :) The drawers on the left are just that, drawers, whereas the right side is the oven and broiler. I don't have it hooked up yet, but it should still be fully functional, though the clock hasn't worked in ages.

    O'Keefe & Merritt

For many years O'Keefe & Merritt was an appliance manufacturer here in Los Angeles. SEE THE FORMER O'KEEFE & MERRITT PLANT IN LOS ANGELES This is my grandmother's 1937 stove, which until 1987 was in her Highland Park house. It was used again briefly in the mid-nineties, but otherwise has...

    Sunbeam Mixer

1936 Mixmaster Seems to me there was another thread related to Mixmasters, but just the same here's my '36 model... There were, just as with KitchenAid, all the various attachments available, but all too often they become lost. Not too long ago I actually found a box with some for this...

Gents: Do you feel comfortable with a woman who is taller than you?

My preference is for a woman my height or a couple inches shorter. I like being able to look each other in the eyes without strain. Most of the women I know are about 5'6" or so, which is perfect since I'm 5'9". The last serious relationship I had was with a woman the same height as me, which...

    This is Pacific Electric

By the way, this is where I picked up that 1952 "This is Pacific Electric" booklet, and they might have a couple left. They're selling surplus books from their collection to help finance construction of a permanent library building. http://oerm.org/pages/library.htm...

    Typewriters

Old Royals Up till my switching to computer, my preference was for manual typewriters. They're so much more intuitive and reliable. My accuracy was helped by a manual too, with the extra degree of effort required, whereas the IBM Selectric required constant liquid paper as it was too...
