My favorite car of all time! A 1950 Buick is Harley Earl's best design IMHO. The 1955-1957 Oldsmobiles are a close second tho!

1942 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS Bertone Coupe

007sft24

This is one of only 40 Alfa Romeos built on the lightweight Super Sport chassis during World War II. Mario Revelli di Beaumont designed this unique coupe and the body was built by Bertone. This year (by coincidence, the year of Alfa Romeo 100th anniversary), the car completed a major restoration in Italy and made its world concours debut at Pebble Beach.

Actually, you can credit Buick chief stylist Ned Nickles with that one. Personally, I prefer the '51s to the '50s. Never liked how the grille spills over the bumper. In '51 they rebuilt the dike and the grille is once again contained.

I absolutely love the '33 and '34 Pontiac roadsters. I think even just the hood ornament off one would be something killer to own.

Actually, I'd love any of the streamlined Indian-head hood ornaments off a '30s-'50s Pontiac, mounted to a block of varnished wood and perched on my desk.

Went down to the Hunnert Car PileUp in Decatur, Ill, this past weekend. Got to have a photo taken with a gorgeous Hudson Terraplane. Navy blue with ivory interior. I've always been a sucker for suicide doors, and this beauty had four!

Dave and p71towny - it was a great show this year. 1500 cars and 15,000 spectators. Much better quality cars, too (spiderweb count was way down). Decatur and Clinton really rolled out the welcome mats. Plan on it for next year!
