Hey everyone, I am back after not posting for a couple of years, here is some vintage I don't really wear:
Usually I am pretty liberal when it comes to the eras I wear, I have everything in my closet from 1900's-1970s, but I tend to go mostly for 1930s-40s and some fifties and some cute Jackie...
Ooo I need the petite for the lady who is well endowed!, the bust is the one place that I always trip up on. I'm a size small in most things, but sometimes have to go up a size because I am a 34D! Ugh!
I have dated a Marine in the past, our relationship ended when he went to Iraq, we are still friends, he thank God came home OK.
I have to say, I am neither military nor wife, but the guy that I am dating looks pretty snazzy in a uniform!
<----------
I'm 5'3 3/4, and a size 4 some times 2, so sometimes finding clothing that fits in general is kind of hard. I have a hard time through the bust because while I am a 2/4, I am also a 34D, which sometimes makes me have to get something larger, then tailor it down in the waist and hips. Most...
I love classic trench coats, I think one of the best examples of a woman in a trench coat is Audrey in "Breakfast at Tiffany's", I think there is nothing classier then a woman in a little black dress, heels, pearls and a traditional trench!
I totally agree on your last point, I think by buying new fur its saying to the people killing the animals that they should continue producing new items, but if we are recycling vintage pieces its both better for the animals and our pocketbooks.
Hi Paul, the cut of the suit to me is more 50's, I guess one way to tell if the suit is 40's is look for shoulder pads. The tag also looks rather 50's. Nice stockings btw!
If you want a nice layering piece under a cardi, you can always try a matching shell ie a twin set instead of a camisole/tank, this gives a nice conservative, dressy look for work.
To me, there is nothing wrong with vintage fur, you didn't buy it new and the animal is long dead. I am an animal lover, but I also don't see anything wrong with new fur items as well ( although vintage is much cheaper!). I come from San Francisco, and the activists love to stand in front of...
When I was referring to a tank in my post, I meant those fitted ribbed tanks that they sell everywhere, I got them in all colors from Jcrew and wear them to bed/lounging.
Same with me! I wear my tanks to bed or around the house or under a low cut dress, sometimes for casual I wear one with a long cardigan and some skinny jeans, flats and a cool necklace, but never for dress up.
Jcrew makes some great ones 100 percent cotton in summer...one of my favorite cardigans is actually from Abercrombie and Fitch :o , when I wear it with anything vintage, I tend to just cover up their little moose with a bakelite pin! I have a hard time finding vintage cardigans since I am...
