Harrow hat
Looks like 58cm is the largest.

or this one, even smaller http://www.harrowschooloutfitters.co.uk/store/product/5269/Harrow-Straw-Hat-Sz52/
Way too small for this 62/63. I could find nothing, re...
terrific image
Warbaby:
Great picture. Thanks for sharing. I wonder where they're all going?
Addendum: Wait, is that a fire being fought in the background? NOW I know where they're going!

me in my Homburg
Here is a pic of me in my Homburg from Miller Hats, made by Biltmore. I wore it for the first time in public at my nephew's wedding in Minneapolis this past weekend. For me, it was kind of like jumping into the deep end of the pool, but I did it. My wife was supportive, and...
almost ideal
The bash doesn't do much for me (I'm too traditional, I guess), but the brim is perhaps as close to perfect as man can make in a Homburg, IMHO. Perfect width, and a lovely 'smile' -- . I was born 50 years too late, tho my Biltmore from Miller Hats has a brim very much like the...
Greetings all:
I'll be attending a family wedding in Minneapolis this weekend and was wondering if there are any hat shops in the twin cities. I hope to have some time between the wedding and the party.
Thanks.

punt on
I think you're right (tho no offense intended -- but perhaps confusing). There is something about your hat that makes it seem a little less formal than a regular boater. Is yours more flexible than a standard boater? I have a round oval, 7 3/4 head and haven't built up the courage...
Homburgs
These hats are made by Biltmore of Canada (at least mine is). They have quite a selection of brim styles -- I bought a "Prince Albert" which has the wider, flatter brim that I was seeking. I did not buy one in the god-awful purple they show in their example, but it does let you see...
round pegs in oval holes
Ernest:
Did you submerge the whole hat or just the brim area, and for how long? Any notion how much you got it to move (I too am one of the Roundheads)?

if it wasn't for bad luck....
Why can't my mother-in-law call me and say she's stumbled upon a vintage bowler, size 7 3/4, and would I like her to buy it? You, sir, married well, in spite of any evidence you might offer to the contrary. :D Please give 'mom' my regards.

weigh it down with ...?
Any thoughts on what to use to weigh it down while curing?
(Maybe I'm over-analyzing this -- steam it and press it flatter. It it's too flat, reverse the direction next time; don't set house (or hat) on fire.... QED.)
Thanks, mayserwegener.

still smiling
Yes
No.
I thought I was clearer than I must have been. Let me try again: I've determined my Homburg has too much 'smile' i.e., curl, to the brim. I didn't think posting pictures of it would change my mind. I was asking about how to best 'flatten' the brim of my...
Greetings to all: I have a new fur felt Biltmore Homburg that I like very much. My one complaint is that the brim is just a tad too up-curled (I'm talking the brim proper, not just the edge). I would like a more Mona Lisa smile to the brim and less Keith Ledger 'Joker' (actually it's not...
god bless Mr Edison
Thanks for sharing. Well worth watching.
I concur. It's obvious it was taken in CA -- those are some crazy drivers. And I know crazy drivers: I *live* in MI and I've *been* to MA. Great ride in a time machine. Derbies, newsboys, slouches, feathered lady's hats...
spring selection is in at HtheH
I just bought one from Henry the Hatter last week, shortly after the season's order arrived. All sizes were available, even mine (7 7/8). Nice people to deal with. The old photos of Jack Demsey, Max Baer (the boxer, not the hillbilly) and other notables...
interested in your report
I'll be interested in your experience when you receive your Olney. I have a similar issue tho in a different direction: I'm something of a wide oval. In order to get a boater that will fit abeam, I'll need a larger one and shim front and rear.
I'm told that...
