gtdean48, It's just Carter. Mr. Carter was my dad. ;) :)
When you search online, search Stetson American Buffalo Collection. You'll find some retailers with the line. Quality hats is one.

Their Austral looks...
Gentlemen, Since the Tipi received so many positive comments, I decided to update my avatar. :)
I also purchased a Bat Masterson derby and a flat-crown/brim Town hat, both black, from the American Buffalo Collection, at HATCO. Both are a lighter weight than the Tipi. I'll post pictures...
As we salute and subsequently devour the ubiquitous bird, I am, as always, thankful for faith, family, friends, and fellowship.
I am mindful of our men and women serving in other lands and at sea.
Wishing all a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
I'm glad to see that chivalry is still being practiced as Miss Neecerie has observed. If not in full bloom, it is in bud. I have taught my son and daughter that a gentleman always places himself between a lady and any potential hazard. Along with opening doors, waiting to be seated, and the...
the Tipi
Here's one from the Stetson American Buffalo Collection. The color looks close to Pewter to me. The crease is hand-done. The hat was kind of floppy when I found it in a stack of [mostly] black Buffalo felt hats.
I picked it up at the HATCO Outlet in Garland. Buffalo Fur Felt is...

JP Update
I drove down to Glenrose, TX on Sunday afternoon and visited with JP who is indeed live and well and doing some wonderful work. I'll post more pictures later but want to show you a Stevens Pacesetter that I left with him in hope that he would be able to make a new fedora in the same...
GT, I wore a Stevens Pacesetter yesterday that Jimmy Pierce did a full restoration on. Take a look at this thread.

Monday afternoon I wore a Stevens Pacesetter that Jimmy Pierce resized from 7 1/8 to 7 5/8 (yeah, I was amazed as well), reblocked, and installed a new sweatband and ribbon. The man is a magician with felt. :)
Very Nice!
Manny, I just gotta say, "This is your best one yet!" :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap
Indycop, You wear your PB Indy well but the young lady by your side takes the prize! She looks TERRIFIC in her hat from the Major! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap
This was Monday afternoon at a Hallmark store.
