    The road to covington ...

Hmmmph! It's dangerous to throw down the faux gauntlet. I was kinda looking forward to a picture of the duo come February. Heck, I was planning on double guns, vests, and cigars. [huh] At least I have the consolation of listening to Chris Isaak singing Let Me Down Easy...

    The road to covington ...

Well, I was thinking of your womenfolk, but ... I'll wear the pink if I can get it in an open crown 2 5/8' brim and 5" crown with a cranberry ribbon and cranberry binding on the brim. Now what about that feather? Hmmm..... ;) :)

Why is the Bum Look Popular? (formally the unemployed look)

I'm glad some ladies' input here. Casual is not necessarily unemployeed. Nor is scruffy a euphemism for unemployable. I agree that the shot of Ewan McGregor may not have been the best shot for MK to use to make his point. Even more obvious examples can easily be found in any major US city...

    "Crisis, what Crisis?"

Fletch, You'll be glad to hear that barter is, in a small way, alive and well in Corsicana, TX, a small town about an hour south of Dallas. My daughter and I drove down this evening to see a stage presentation of A Christmas in Graceland. Admission was either $15.00 or a wrapped Christmas gift...

Don't shun... embrace the corduroy suit.

FYI. I went back to the thrift store and the corduroy suit was GONE. No big surprise there. It was a nice suit.

    The road to covington ...

Great Pictures, Indycop & Rusty. Indy, I'm glad to see that the Major has pink, cranberry, and red felts for whenever you're ready. Rusty, thanks for the update on the article. This has been a fascinating ride so far. :)

The Dumbest Comment I Ever Heard

Falk/Columbo - Mitchum/Marlowe Hadley, Truth be told, I think you like that photo because it is very reminiscent of Robert Mitchum as Philip Marlowe. Hmmm.... ;) :) :cool2:

    Akubra Overload

Campdraft On their official website, Akubra shows the Campdraft as available in a wider range of colors than is currently available for purchase. I sent an email to Ron Lilburne at HatsDirect regarding availability of colors in the Campdraft. Here is Ron's reply: "I had a quick chat to...

    NEWS BOY CAPS

I agree with the previous posts. The brim is great but the body is decidedly undernourished.

A 1912 Suit/Tie/Boater you could wear 100 years later and look at home.

Great Photo I like the wide ribbon on his boater. I've often wondered what size a boater should be relative to the size of one's fedora since the stance when worn seems to be consistently higher than that of a felt hat. I'd like to see all of his paisley stripe(?) necktie. Very dapper.

    Two by Art Fawcett

After agonizing over this, I have decided to offer the first two of my fedoras made by Art Fawcett. Both are 24"/61cm/7 5/8 Long Ovals in Art's dress weight 100% Beaver felt. They are beautiful and soft as the proverbial baby's bottom but I don't wear them and I'm not running a museum so here...
