leather jackets with a still-reasonable used market?

I'm not following you then, because when you say "No matter the age or label, I think it’s inferior." it sounds like you're making a blanket statement about every LW in Japan. I've owned multiple, a couple had funky sample leather, most had a pigment top coat I didn't like. However I don't like...

Fit Check - Lost Worlds Horsehide A1

Looks pretty good imo. A1s are supposed to be fairly short in the body. The sleeves may be slightly short, partially because the cuffs are scrunched up a bit. In historical photos you tend to see a beefier cuff down to the thumb bone, that doesnt tunnel. The shoulders look right. Pits would...

leather jackets with a still-reasonable used market?

So you think if a Japanese customer ordered a Ryder or smth, Stuart just skimped on his order and sent him an inferior jacket? Do you have experience with US market samples from the 90s/early 2000s to make the comparison?

    Fit Check Thread for Jackets

imo, that's about the range of motion you should expect with a simple shoulder construction. there's a reason action backs and such were designed.

leather jackets with a still-reasonable used market?

I think we'd have to compare equivalent samples from the US market, 15-20 years old like most of the used japanese ones. There's also the fact that there are jackets he made for japanese brands like Evisu, and then just regular line jackets ordered by individuals in Japan.

leather jackets with a still-reasonable used market?

I honestly just think its just that we are comparing 20+ year old LW to modern LW. My main complaint with the older LW leather Ive handled is the pigment top coats feel pretty uninspiring. But I feel the same way about older Schotts as well. Construction wise they held up fine.

leather jackets with a still-reasonable used market?

Japan LW has a lot of samples, as well as quite old jackets (10-20 years). I get the sense that Stuart has stepped up his leather quality in recent years.

    Double Helix Leather Stain Treatment

My white's boots in natural maryam are pretty similar. some water stains and some doesn't. the only thing that really helped was damp cloth blending, brushing, and just letting them darken and age with frequent brushings. I also used venetian leather balm which improved the look imo. the...
