For anyone who likes big, bold retro styling, we've had these on Ebay:

They used to hang in our Vermont restaurant and then in our kitchen. Transatlantic move to (very) tight quarters forces sale...
I'm looking for a USN flight jacket of the older variety. If it's original, it should be pre-1960s but I'd consider a repro as well. Doesn't have to be in amazing shape, as my budget isn't!
Anything out there?
I made an impulse purchase of a really nice Eastman Leather G-1 - ironically, it was sent from California, when I live less than 5 miles from ELC - I don't even want to think about the carbon footprint
It ended up being a size too big - it's a 44 - and it's already gone to a good home...
Almost the end of my grand spring cleaning: a piece of almost too genuine American workwear in the form of a very well-used Filson tin-cloth jacket and a British Army leather jerkin dated 1945.
The Filson is style 64 which they don't make anymore, basically an unlined field coat in a size 44...
Up for sale, something I know almost nothing about, except that it's a man's waistcoat, very obviously handmade, dating almost certainly from the last half of the 19th Century. The only identifying mark on it is stamped on the buckle: "Prima France."
It's of some sort of cotton dyed with...
Up for sale: my 1960s vintage British Motorcycle Leathers cafe racer jacket in blue. These Canadian jackets are becoming quite sought after. I bought this from Dave Hillel (http://vintageleatherjackets.blogspot.com/) a couple of years ago. Selling to fund new purchases. It's a really sharp...
Up for sale, this Woodrow Superfine Quality Homburg. From the embossed stamp inside I believe this dates to around 1931. It's in excellent condition for an 80-year-old hat. It measures exactly 58cm around the sweatband.
£35, and I'll throw in UK postage.
I'm probably going to buy an older G-1 (pre-1965) in the next couple of days, and one thing has struck me as I've been hunting: measurements seem to bear only a slim relationship to the size as per labels.
Is the fit of the G-1 problematic or is it OK to buy an old one based on the...
Here's a historical question for the leather jacket experts.
My interest was picqued by Baron Kurtz's beautiful mandarin-collar A-2-type jacket that he had for sale a little while ago. And then I realized that I couldn't, with any certainly, claim to have seen a single other British leather...
Any interest in three old cycling jerseys in great worn condition? Two Belgians (Ijsbroeke and "Lucky Sprinters") and an Italian national team jersey from late 70s early 80s.
Belgians £25 inc. postage in the UK, Italian £45 inc postage as before. Photos to come.
Making room for new stuff, so in the Classifieds you'll find a pair of Lewis Leathers bike boots, and a pair of 1960s sheepskin lined Gold Top Trophy boots.
The real deal, rockers - enjoy!
Up for your consideration: two pairs of classic rocker motorcycle boots:
The first are made by Lewis Leathers, the classic 4-strap, reinforced upper, full-zip (RiRi) design in a generous size UK 12 (but a small 12: I wear a UK 11 and these fit me perfectly with an inner sole).
The second...
First, a confession: I've never really liked A2s. In fact I've disliked them quite a lot. I don't like the collar or the waist. And I've always been pretty certain that they'd look really bad on me.
Weeell... I made a fatal mistake, the other day, of wandering into American Classics in Covent...
You win some, you lose some...
Ever the optimist, I bought this classic bit of outdoor gear on the 'bay, hoping it would fit. Of course, it's too big for me. Here are some pics from the original auction:
The cuffs are starting to fray and there's the odd mark - this is a well-used...
I'm in the market for a classic English racing felt. I have the image of the perfect hat in my mind's eye: unfortunately it's being worn by my grandfather - a true sporting officer and gentleman - and both he and the hat are long departed.
A look around London's remaining hatters has left me...
Could it be that spring is almost here (well, the snowdrops are up anyway)? Because a chap's fancy is turning to matters outdoor. Having found an excellent pair of traditional hiking boots (Pivetta style 8, £1 on ebay and they fit like a glove) and a Grenfell walking coat, I now need a 'new'...
Very excited about this lucky find on the 'bay:
It's a shooting jacket by Cordings of Piccadilly in Grenfell Cloth, with ventilated, gusseted underarms and chin-strap. I can't wait to see how it performs in the wet - I'll be posting my findings on the Ventile thread if anyone's...

Do any loungers have an opinion on the hat Joss Ackland is wearing in White Mischief? He plays suspected murderer Sir Jock Broughton alongside the disturbingly lovely Greta Scacchi - this is the best image I can find - squint and you'll see Mr...
Does anyone know if you can still find classic old-fashioned hiking boots with (preferably) one-piece tops and Norwegian-welted soles? I know there are a couple of custom makers out there (one in Canada - unbearably expensive but apparently incredible), but I really just want a pair to hike the...
I have a brilliant old 50s sweater that used to belong to my father. It's seen far, far better days - in fact if I didn't guard it jealously it would have been used to polish the car years ago...
My question is this: does anyone know of a place or person that would take this old relic and...
