Close to me in San Francisco is the USS Pampanito. It is a WWII Balao class Fleet Submarine. I went through it once (will have to go again). It is great and boy are they small! Gives you an idea of what the crew had to go through.
My father was in the US Navy from 1927 till 1956. I remember my mother helping him pack his sea bag when he left for active service during the Korean War. My father's brother was in the US Army during WWII and as far as I understand he served in CBI with Merrill's Marauders, can't verify it...
What Price Glory has new replacement corks with the hardware for $3.00 each. I think that would be your best bet. They are reproductions by the way.

Forgot to mention that I also have an original garrision cap that is quite nice and fits me just right. I was lucky to find my size on e-bay and it only cost $24.00.
Just got my Chocolate crusher a couple of weeks ago. It was made by Dave at Diamond Caps. It is great and you might look at the website for an idea ofwhat he makes.
That is great. I will have to make one myself soon. I have been interested in radios for a quite a while. I still have the Crystal and One Tube radios that I made in Junior High School in the mid 1950s. I made a crystal radio just a few months ago from a Quaker Oat Cereal box. It works...

I wish I had the Speed Graphics that I used in High School. They were a 4x5 and a 31/4 X 4 1/4 (I think). We used them for Yearbook pictures and also a bit for the school newspaper. This was back in the early 1960s. I graduated from high school in 1961.
Question, what is the web address for the radio forum? You have me curious as I am a Amateur Radio Operater and as a sideline I have made a few crystal radios and have a couple of old radios sitting out in my storage area (garage). Thanks
RudyN
There are stories of Sherman tanks and other armored vehicles being buried in the California Desert where there were manuvers during WWII. Don't know if these are urban myths or not, but it would be fun to find a nice Sherman.
My first A2 is HH and so far the feel of the leather hasn't bothered me at all. It is not the most authentic A2 (US Wings) but it is what I could afford and the time. I am saving up for a GoodWear Leather A2 though.
I didn't smoke any of my pipes today, but yesterday I had some Mountain camp in my Pre-Republic Peterson and later some Premium Burley in a Peterson 317.
I now have to wear hearing aids for higher frequency sounds. It was my fault because one time I went to an indoor pistol range and forgot my ear plugs and was to lazy to go back and get them. Luckily in a quiet room I can get along without them as long a someone is looking directly at me when...
