Well it arrived. I'm surprised.
I have to say, I really like this hat. Been wearing it around the most of the three. I am impressed that Baron's delivered on the promise and in such swift time. It's a shame really, they make descent hats but they're customer service is such a mess. Me, I will...
I made no changes to the "Dillinger" model when I ordered it. So the brown you see is the brown you get I guess.

Is that the photo or do they look that far off. Thanks for pointing that out. I hadn't really gone back to their site to look at their "Dillinger"...
So I was informed today by Mr Mejia that the Silverbelly Cliffhanger would be shipping out next week. So they say, they even put on the pleated hat band like their Rover model on it, which I asked for if it wasn't trouble. Pretty cool.
Then Mr. Mejia asked if I had any suggestion for a name...
That's a nice look. I never thought I could swing a powder blue, but it almost looks white in some of those pics. It is interesting how some of the colors shift, and you are right about the samples being somewhat deceptive. Great hat sir.
There's a photo for you, lol. I posted this a while back in the new hat section but it is one of my favorite Optimo I own.
I understand the money issue completely but at the same time I think when you buy an item of any kind made for you, you ask for more than just quality. I have found...

If you check that page on their site it shows that their hats actually ship from a US location. I had also been dissuaded by the prospect of customs charges, but the fact they ship from the US is even stranger. I wonder then who is actually...
On August 8, 2010, I recieved a Yuma Band All Beaver Brown Cliffhanger and a furfelt Brown "Dillinger" from Baron Hats. Before these hats arrived, I was contacted by Mr. Mejia who offered his apologies for the situation and provided me with a full refund of a third hat I had ordered, a...
Okay. I need to check out this Szaszi place. My wife keeps saying I have to buy a Homburg in Vienna because it just seems right, but that classic fedora on the Szasi site has a nice look to it. I will of course bring back photos of the shop and possibly a hat if things go well.
You ever not...
I'm heading to Vienna, Austria soon and wanted to know if there were any hat shops in Vienna that I should not pass up. I tried searching but nothing popped up so I figured I would ask. I don't know the different brands they have over there and what to avoid.
Bought a silverbelly Aria from them and like it quite a bit. Very soft hat. The people there were nice and helpful. I picked my hat up in person and they made sure it was just right before I left.
I meant to reply to this when I commented earlier. The brim use to be about 4 inches. I used it like that for years. Now it's a stingy just under 2 inches.
I have a renovation with Bronco Sue which is taking a while but they are a smaller hatter so I make the allowance. I went with them for this hat because it was a cowboy hat and I wanted them to put in the Roy Rogers Crease that most fedora based hatter do not carry. I also own a hat from them...
Hope this helps. The color is fascinating to me because it shifts so much. It gets darker and then lighter and then browner. A very versatile color to have in your wardrobe.
Figured I would share. Just had some hats renovated by Optimo and I wanted to show people how well they came out. I never realized just how much life you could breathe back into these old abused hats. They did an amazing job over at Optimos and I think that any renovations from this point on may...
